I have both the front and back upholstered interior panels off, and I didnt find a liner under either of them. On the doors, I didnt find an adhesive either. The rear panels, there was adhesive on the interior metal panel, but not the upholstered panel... leading me to believe that there were liners (if that is what they are called) at some point.

What are those suckers made out of? I think, even if they werent stock, that I will be putting in.

Will do. Thanks!
They are a plastic moisture barrier to keep the card board from warping. The were pretty thin from the factory
and the above mentioned plastic would be a better choice. Either contact cement and/or tape to hold them in
place.

One "mod" I did once door panels were off was I used velcro to hold panels in place. The door panel clips can poke holes/indentation in the vinyl.
Glue matching velcro on panel and on the door.

Will do. Thanks!

Just a FYI, I lined the backs of the panels with cheap moving blanket material and then covered that with the plastic leaving the bottom of the plastic loose for breathability.
It helps insulated from heat, cold and sound.

Not the quilted stuff, but the single layer stuff like trunk liner.

Used heavy poly from the local home store. I have templates for 69 FB fishes! Also sent My originals to James at Detroit muscle. He likely has them ready to send.

They are not cut to door panel size exactly. On the bottom edge they are folded. I found some Black paper type masking tape just like the original stuff.

Doors had a spray tack on them. Rear used a rope type mastic similar to that used to seal the heater box halves. I just used some silly dope or dum/dum whatever you want to call it, that came with my sun porch to seal the rear windows. It rolled out great in your hand to a string that wrapped the circumference of the rear opening area.

I made my own with roll plastic the contractors use. Its 3 times as thick as the original stuff. I used the double sided tape that is used to put the plastic over windows in the winter time.

Legendary sent a flattened out 8 penny or similar nail with the door cards. It is a pita, but when used the right way to open the backing to insert the clips, it left no indentation! Lots of patience required!

We got ours from Legendary as well, it was like a thin exacta blade or something, but like you said pita. Velcro works great, just be gentle removing it.

Where do you buy this ?

My original door panels lasted 30+ years, the replacements less than 5 because the upholstery shop did not put these water barriers back in. The more exposed to the elements your car is the more important the plastic barrier is.

Don't leave these out if the car is ever out in the weather. As noted before they keep water that dribbles down the window through the window seal off the back of the inner door panel. Don't miss sticking the bottom of the plastic sheet into the slot at the bottom of the door to send the water into the door and out the lower vent holes (behind the black tape in the excellent photos above). Lots of our cars have ruined door panels because someone fixed something in the door and just threw the plastic sheet in the trash.
