Perpetual motion machine

Cannot get more out then is put in. Period.....There is something you don't see there.....you think if it was that easy they would not be running the world on them? Just the belt friction alone would stop it.....I would love him to unplug the cord going to the silver motor......

Sounds interesting, but there's no such thing as perpetual motion. No such thing as a free lunch when it comes to energy.
I think Nicola tesla would disagree....problem is greed why energy isn't free

There are high end uninterruptible back up power supplies that are actually granite disks weighing tons that spin on an extremely low friction bearing.

They power generators also built on ultra low friction bearings.

They can spin for months.

Eventually, though.....gravity and friction/resistance overcome inertia.

Nicola Tesla had nothing to do with perpetual motion because it's not real. He did basically invent/discover wireless transmission of power. Marconi stole his ideas for the antennae. When asked how it worked, Marconi could not explain it. Again, that power is usually high voltage and lower current. so it's transformed and there are losses. I built a tesla coil, actually several, back in the 90s. You could fire it up and light a flourescent build across the room with it. LOT's of energy transformation .. to light a bulb.

Don't get me wrong, Tesla was a fricking super genius and made Edison look like a chump on many occasions. But he didn't make "free power". he made a great way to move power and use it in A/C motors, brushless devices etc. Nothing free....

Ok, I'm just going to say this now.

Free energy ranks right up there with flat earth.... smdh

Still amazing what Tesla and Edison came up with back in their day for what they had to work with.

The human mind, properly applied . . miracles happen. Takes a lot of motivation to push it all through too.

1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.

I look at Edison like the Bill Gates of today. He was smart, but he was good at hiring and using people smarter than him. Tesla worked for Edison and so much of his tech was patented by Edison. It's said he was able to do experiments, over time, in his head.... Who knows...

As brilliant as Tesla was in many ways, some of them were lunacy. His ideas on high power transmission for example. Essentially electromagnetic. Just....doesn't.........work......that.......way...

I'm sure some brainiac will bring up "wireless chargers." Well guess what. They are very near field, not much range, "inches." And on that note, I think they should be illegal. All so some lazy *** doesn't have to plug in a charging cord.........we get more RF interference in the spectrum.

The closest thing to perpetual motion is a river or stream. Nature always wins.

here ya go

Now imagine, you’re in ‘space’ (no such thing) you fall off you space car in a spin outward to no where (energy used). Will you ever stop spinning? No air no friction never hitting anything, you will spin forever. Only on planet earth will Perpetual motion never work.

That's conservation of momentum. There's no change in energy happening, so the state remains constant - in the real world though there is no such thing as zero interaction, even in space. Eventually it all goes back to zero.

Perpetual (never ending) motion (it moves) means it keeps moving, making energy or using energy is a another ball game,

As commonly understood, a perpetual motion machine is a hypothetical machine that can do work infinitely without an external energy source. No work, no machine - but point taken.

At the same time, there's no such thing as zero interaction. Even in space. Eventually even gravity radiation will consume the kinetic energy of a spinning body.

Not true, there is dust in space that will act on you. you're thinking of a perfect natural vacuum which doesn't exist.

His vision was though "free power"
I realize nothing is free free.

Something moving has energy....
I was just thinking... perpetual may not be the correct word to use... but what "IF"....
a guy makes a motor that is turned by magnet force using opposite polars on the outer walls of the casing. The crankshaft with wound coil wire and a flat pad would rotate till the bearings at the end of the crankshaft wore out. How much power would be to the size of the unit. One could turn a generator by belt in the middle of the forest and it would make power to run a transmitter, not be detectable, and be virtually noiseless. :realcrazy::realcrazy: Now my brain hurts

All this discussion is about reducing external resistance to the moving machine. Minimizing parasitic losses is exactly what advanced engineering aims to do to maximize efficiency.

Batteries want to maximize energy storage return and motion based energy storage systems like this aim do the same...both by reducing parasitic loss. Heat, friction, gravity, etc all contribute to the parasitic losses such that the input energy can never be fully returned.

Therefore, there is no such think as 100% perpetual. Even light (photons) exert external force which drains energy from the system by resistance.

Isaac Newton stated that “An object in motion will remain in motion unless acted upon by an external force.” That is true, but everything in the Universe is an external force acting upon any object moving and thereby slowly resisting its motion...and eventually causing it to cease moving.

There is no such thing as perpetual motion because there is no such thing as zero resistance in the known universe.

Something moving has energy....
You’re thinking earth terms here. So define ‘space’. There’s no more energy in a spinning object than a non moving object, energy was used to spin the object not continue spinning it. Same thing as continuing in a straight line until acted upon. Which in deep ‘space’ would be 99.9999% to 100% nil. Earth is moving at 18 miles a second, been doing that quite awhile. What happens out ‘there’ works different than on earth

And you are thinking in limited time spans and size of energy densities.

The equation doesn’t care how much the size of the drain is nor how long it takes, just the rate at which energy is drained. It may take millennia, but the energy will be drained eventually and the system will go to zero.

It’s a fundamental law of physics.

I guess we’ll never live long enough to test it then

It’s already been tested and proven.

You really need to study physics and understand it completely to realize that local observation of an event to completion is not the way make conclusions or deem something “true”. It is simply one data point perspective.

Mathematical equations and “proofs” are the way to understand things and challenge their validity.

Every good scientist postulates a theory and then sets out to disprove it...NOT prove it.

The Universe and Space hold far more information than you understand and provide the proof you are denying. You just need to understand more than you do now to grasp it.
