Easy Run Engine Test Stand

-
The other way to look at this, is the money you don't spend on something you can make, you can spend on something you can't, like engine parts etc.

To each there own...

=C
Now you've got it!! Your last line says "to each there (sic) own". See, now wasn't that easy?

Worked on assembly the test stand last week but the heat was killing me.....going to finish it off in the morning....

hopefully get my 1st motor on it.....in a few days......got a really nice 360 to fire up.....

Got the radiator mounted......but the heat won again...was getting dizzy ....headed for home

I had a buddy that built a cheap engine stand. He used a block and tackle to lower it into the stand. He started the engine, let it warm up, and then cracked the carb to WOT. The engine wrapped up the chain to the ceiling. This same guy couldn’t stay out from the hood of his car, he wore the hood hinges out, and promptly welded the hood shut. He was so broke that he put 90w in the engine and used a torch to heat the oil pan.
That’s one dumb *** mutha fuuuu……

Going to mount an engine on it this weekend.....I need a starter....and electric water pump...flywheel bolts..all on the way.
Steal a battery from the race car.....since we dont race again till Sept...

Sounds like you need a bigger radiator

No..i dont need a bigger radiator....I need an Air condition garage....
as it been extremely hot the past couple of weeks in Vegas....
plus I am having some medical issues that need to be taken care of....

going to try to mount that 360 tomorrow at least start....

suppose to be hot.....but I am in good mood...
as I won round one with the test results from the doctor....

it is 10 30 am....and temperature is 102 already.......this sofa is pretty comfortable

I have a portable swamp cooler ....but it is buried in my daughter stuff.....she run a small business out of my garage where the race cars are....dying and selling yarn on the internet...so she has tubs of yarn stored all over the place...

Finally moving forward with getting an engine on this thing...Have had some health issues that have slowed me down....but moving forward as tired on sitting on my ***...

Got a fuel pump mounted on the stand....hose to and from tank...and hose for the carb.....
Had to move 2 engines to get to the 360 that I want to run......got the plastic bag off it....to put on moroso electric water pump on it....that is went the old **** moment....No Water pump
so tomorrow I get the flywheel and bell housing mounted on the 360,,,,,motor is internally balanced...so i should be able to swing motor on stand ...going to slow go for first time...
got a little bit of wiring still ....hooking up starter...oil pressure line...

the motor needs to primed again....rockers tighten adjustment checked...intake bolted down.....I am using a DUI Hei distributor.....one fire for the coil and one wire for the tach....
and lastly remove inter spring LOL...trying to figure out which ported eddy head these are.....oh....they got the 2.08 intake valve done by Brian at IMM.....this is the set that ate and exhaust valve...valve head broke off..bean **** out of chamber
Has Hughes 6064 cam...with Holley SD....using Holley 750 dP,,,,,and see what header will fit....got a used set of TTi stepped headers i will want to use.
Icon 741 .030 pistons....decked.....true 10,50 compression....Scat I beam rods....internally balanced stock crank.

then we move on to the 390 and 410......

Yesterday....I was uncovering the rest of the engine....and I found a brand new water pump for it......hell getting old

Got pump on minus two bottom bolts...plus got moroso electric water pump kit on....

Today was a no go ...108....tomorrow pretty much the same...plus got shipping container being delivered, so i can get daughters stuff out my garage....lol

Got myself a belated xmas present and early birthday present. Ordered it back on January 4, 2021, they said it would take a 6 weeks at least due to shortage of parts. Kept in touch with them ...last update said it suppose to be done the end of april ...they called last thursday to say it was ready...Going tomorrow to Riverside Ca to pick it up ....

Bought the professional series....but I did not pay what the ad shows....plus got some extra pieces at reduced prices....Cash talks...

PROFESSIONAL SERIES - Easy-Run Engine Test Run Stands

Told a couple of racers....and I got some new good friends...lol..
My friend Mark has that exact stand. It sure is nice to run an engine before you put it in the car. Would you rather find and fix a leak on the stand or pull it out of the car? BTW, he also has a real paint booth on one end of hos Morton Building. Funny thing is that he hates to paint. I do all his painting for him. He just wanted a convenient place for us to paint in. The nearest rentable paint booth is about 60 miles away.

Hoping it would cool off this week but nope...108 today....but finally got this 360 mounted.....took a while since it was the first time had to move things around and make a run to hardware store to get some longer/shorter bolts.....

Got some wires to hook up.....hoses....fuel line...plus going to remove inter valve spring to break in flat tappet cam....we will see how the weather plays out ....but forecast does not good..still hot until last week of Sept..
