Stop in for a cup of coffee

On these old cars, pulling an engine should be way less than an hour even with power options, it usually takes me longer to set up the engine crane and get it hooked up than it does to disconnect everything.

Not like these new cars that you have to drop the whole subframe, I've been there a time or 10.
6 bolts on a big block bellhousing. 14 on a dodge journey…go figure.

So far the worst transmission i ever had to wrestle was the NP 435 in my 70 D100. For some reason the input shaft wouldn't slip in, even after I did that plastic spline dildo thing to it.

I had to get under the transmission and push it up with my knees and try to push, I probably looked like I was in labor but that little basterd just wouldn't go and it was heavy as hell. Finally I got a bolt started but still had to fight it all the way.

You must have not been holding your mouth just right lol! I've had those, clutch job on front wheel drive SOB. Sometimes I wonder if I should get a tranny jack.

Car designers have been fighting that distance since FWD cars were invented. How to balance a car with the engine in front of the front wheel center line? The smaller the better....Compare to a BMW, RWD but one of the best handling cars produced..1986 BMW,

So, now that my ideas of having a v8 muscle car in my car are becoming reality, my parents pointed out that the front suspension on my duster is dust.
How difficult is it to rebuild the suspension myself and what rebuild kits did you guys use?
Looking under it, it is really overwhelming.

Been there. Last one was a 50 chevy 1 ton.pulling engine was nothing compared to getting transmission back in. Everything black with schmutz lumps of dirt constantly falling and i had to do it on the floor. I wanted to pull front sheet metal, owner was against it. Next time im not asking, just doing.

Old guy just showed up,driving a rotten old million mile chevy 1ton diesel. Nope.i dont do diesels. Not even an oil change.
