Where are the a bodies going

-
^^^^Any old Mopar that just needs some tinkering is usually pretty much done and not too awful cheap. Someone has already done or paid for most of the expensive stuff!!
For most A bodies IMO $20-25000 should buy a pretty darn nice car!!

I figured that I could find something nice for around 20-25k. Tinker with, I mean like make the under hood area nice, fine tune the ignition/carburetor. With arthritis in my lower back and left hip I can't climb all over cars like I once could, age is catching up with me, I'm 62.
With the budget like that you shouldn't have any trouble whatsoever finding something nice...
A round trip ticket from Portland Oregon to Jacksonville Florida is about 350 bucks and that's about from one corner to the other. If you find something that nice you should be able to fly out and go look at it... Put a deposit on it and either have it shipped home or come back again with a one-way ticket and drive it home...

I've already started looking out of Missouri.

I think it should. I may have to go out of Missouri to get it. Anything here is over priced

Minnesota/ Wisconsin has a PILE of them quite often

I lived in Mo for 37 years, up till about 4-5 years ago. Mopars are cheaper than than most places. Fact is cars are getting harder to find and higher priced all the time. South Mo. has the best Mopars and prices. Most of them have been hauled out of there for the last several decades though.

Flat curious to see what the budget here is for a painted (non-20 footer) V8 power steering a body..??..

I paid 8500 for my V8, ps, 10 footer 3 years ago... has a little more in it now, but nothing crazy that's for sure..

I like the blue dart, a 1970?. Is it a v8,ps,ac car? How much is it .I'm in truxton mo

That car is listed at 18k, it's a /6 car don't know much of the specifics, didn't look at the add for to long. It looks like a very clean car though.

Thanks, good to know. Asking price and selling price is 2 different things. That gives me an idea what mine might be worth.

Back some years ago I would call on older ads in MCG. If the car had sold I would ask IF I could get some info for my use as to price and condition. Some would blow me off but usually I could get in a conversation and get some input. Only way to know the market unless you think BJ etc is your price guide.
Once I was hot buy a big block 67-9 A and it was mid 90's and the Mopar market was depressed. Just looking for a good driving 383 car. Every time I called it had sold and I thought "huh!"> I kept calling old ads there in MCG and finally I got to an ad that was a year old. In Ca. By then I had figured out real well what they were bring and as luck was it I found a great car for a good price. Not cheap for then, buy worth very penny. I flew to Ca. and drove it back to Mo.

Cars being parted out, TV shows pushing classic cars as "cool", cars being sold and shipped overseas to rich dudes from other countries. yes American cars, and heavy metal music are still popular in in some parts of the whirl, its like its the 80s all over again...LOL! Does anyone else remember when Mopars werent cool? whern noone wanted them and if you drove nre you were "a glutton for wrenching punishment"? I remember in High school people drove chevies there were a few mustangs and 289/302 falcons, but Moapr? not many if there was one it was a cool 10 year old 75 or 6 Duster still in decent shape. A guy in school had a 71 Charger super bee, but it was beat in primer with a 400 in it. No girl wanted to ride in it because it was ratty LOL! back in the mid eighties you could score a Mopar for 100 or 200 bucks, sometimes running also....
Mopars have ALWAYS been Cool..

Car ran 13.07 at legit track and 12.97 at Tampa drags. It was 66’ short. And the track was part of the old Hwy 92 roadway.

Hey Man, that's pretty respectable for a street ( daily driver) car. Most people that think their junk is fast have a 14 sec ( or more) ride.. I just dig that setup there.. old school cool. You started driving that the year I was born! Lol. Tampa drags was gone before I moved here from Jax in 89. Supposed to be a strip in Pinellas Park, haven't been there yet tho.

I ran 28” slicks at the track. Also the first major decision I had to make was buy tickets to Led Zeppelin or a new 780 Holley. A new 780 was $49.95 then. Bought the carb. Girlfriend bought the tickets. I had the world by the tail.

Yes You Did! And of course, a wise decision maker!

I don't know if you know this or not. But Tampa Drags was where the Rooms to Go warehouse is now. As I said it was part of the old Hwy 92. I lived off of the new Hwy 92 at the end of the drag strip. My Sunday alarm clock was when the first un capped header car fired up. I would get up drive a half mile to the track and go racing.
