Why so many gloom and doomers on this site

Man I really started a poop-storm. Lol. Just remember YOUR vote counts, the sky WILL be blue again, the grass ISN’T always greener on the other side of the fence, you are RICHER than the rich guy that has nothing, love isn’t free BUT neither is loneliness, they don’t know it BUT Mopars are number one, and believe it or not some of the girls that shop at Walmart ARE beautiful. Have a GREAT day.
I've seen some cheeks in walmart...its a spandex show of which gal can fit the most *** in her tights mostly. You need to have a lightening fast turn away in case the *** is like a chunky bag of vomit and chopped potatoes though... or its suffocation nightmares for weeks.

I almost got my parts! It's only been a year since I ordered them. They shipped today, WINNING! YAY!

Man some of you Mopar guys are a bunch of Nancy’s. Ohhh we aren’t going to have gas, ohhhhh my we don’t have parts, ohhhhhh my this business won’t get back to me, ohhhhhh it costs to much, ohhhhhh we aren’t going to have cars in five years, ohhhhhhhhh I can’t find used parts and when I did I waited five days and someone else bought it out from under me. Damn guys give me a break. Do your research, call a business more than once, use Google and Facebook to find parts, call your Congress man and tell them how you feel about gas prices. Be-itching to us does nothing, but makes you look like a Nancy.
These complaints->
A reflection of modern culture.

I have a friend that is a security officer for WalMart. His job is to go through the camera footage to find how the customers are taking merchandise. He is a better man than I! 5 minutes and I’m out the door, those people are sick!!!

Walmart is a big store, I avoid the chunky isle and keep my eyes staring right. focused.

321 dollar solid lifters?

They reinvented the wheel and you bought it?

Around 80 grams each if I remember right. With edm holes for lubrication.

I am shooting or minimal mass in the valve train, including conical springs and tool steel retainers and ductile iron rockers. Have not picked pushrods out because I don't have the heads yet. Spring pressures should be relatively light as a function of reduced mass. I'll pick valves after a conversation with my machinist.

Heads will be the promaxx cnc shockers. (Bare)

We pay extra for more Mallory metal when we have to balance something ...then we pay extra for less metal in our lifters.

Pure brilliance.

I was going to spout some numbers off the top of my head and then it had me thinking about Mopar solid lifters and how they were the lightest ones because they use a cap n clip in a hollow lifter body at around 90 grams.

I don't give a chit what other people say or worry about. I just keep pluggin forward.....however slowly.
AMEN, brother. I don't really mind people complaining about the cost or availability of car parts. After all, this is a car forum, and we are just a bunch of car guys 'chatting' with each other. We may be a thousand miles apart, but we are chatting about things as though we were in a garage together. If I was in a garage with some of my car buddies, I may easily say something like, "Holy crap, I thought about buying an Air Gap manifold, and the price went up a hundred dollars since I checked a month ago." Then we would all discuss how expensive things have gotten, and how hard they might be to find. We all understand it is temporary. I don't consider that gloom and doom, it's just a bunch of car guys talking. What I do take offense to is when people say mean, rude, nasty and foul things against someone they disagree with. Like if I said, "Holy crap, I thought about buying an Air Gap manifold, and the price went up a hundred dollars since I checked a month ago", and someone came back with, "What do you expect, you dumbass. The government is in the process of......." And then someone else comes back with, "Screw you. It isn't the current president's fault, it was the last guy." And all the sudden the thread is hijacked. In my opinion there is NO place for that on this forum.

I'm old I admit. I remember back to the days before the computer, before the cell, before instant everything. It has all, changed out mentality and personality.
I also feel that alot of of negativity these days relate to what we have al gone thru the last year or two. Covid and all that relates to it. Just like today, Feb. 24, there is a lot going on in this world to affect our outlook on life and everything in general.
I admit to having a Faith and I will admit I say a prayer every night. I try to always to say thanks for what our family, and even those beyond our family, have to be thankful for. Somedays it is a lot by my measure, some days what might seem pretty small to others no doubt.

I disagree! I have friends from both sides and all races but when we talk whether it is in the garage, swap meets, car shows or going out for dinner politics is a common topic.if you have pets it’s the price and availability that is in question. If you are sick it’s the politics of covid. If you are going to a ball game-masks or no mask-it’s politics. We have learned that to avoid politics you must live underground. And good luck with that!

i agree harrisonm said it best no need to repeat. been a mopar guy since the late 60's. computer guy since the 2000's seen alot of changes some for the better some not but i think thats life in general. i would like to say the ones doing the name calling are a few and it seems to be the same ones over and over making it look like a lot.

Waiting to retire to do the things in life you have always wanted to do?
Most of my close friend and some relatives never got old enough to draw a social security check...

Waking up with joint pain every morning is something to be grateful for.

I earned every grey hair on my head, and the ones that decided to stick around, I am grateful.
I earned every creaky bone in my body, and even had fun creating them. I am grateful.
I earned every single scar, and even have a story for every one. Just like a fisherman, the stories get better with every retelling. And I am grateful.
I earned the right to tell stupid dad jokes and pull my finger tricks on my son. I am grateful.

Your friends and family who have died can no longer do the things we complain about, but I bet that they are grateful for what they could do, for having you in their lives when they were here with us. They can no longer make new memories with you and they surely have regrets for the things that they never did. Live your life so that you don't have those regrets of shoulda, coulda, wooda.:BangHead:

If you are saying that we have to make the best of what we have now, I'm in complete agreement with that. If you are saying we should all do our individual best to make what we have better, again, I'm in complete agreement with that. But what pissed me off was your statement that you are "annoyed" by us old farts complaining about how much better it used to be. It was and that was a fact. As to being lectured about history, my experience is that people do the "yeah, yeah, I get it" when you bring up learning from history and then proceed to ignore it. It is true that if you are in a leaky boat, your only hope of salvation is to bail faster than the water runs in. Maybe we all have to bail faster.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I would try to plug the hole in the boat. Even with bailing faster the hole will become larger.

As a single guy I can only do what I can and I only pay cash (no credit card) for what I need. That being said I am going to just enjoy what I have and not move forward on another project. Last year I put my car into the wall, bought another Dart, had big plans to go through the crashed engine and swap out with the new one but with prices the way they are I'll just sit this outView attachment 1715875481
That sucks...

I could write a book on this topic. Be thankful for what you have, not remorseful on what you don't. I would rather have nothing, then owe someone something. I wake up with pain being thankful, knowing that many others don't wake up at all.

That’s the thing about dirt low interest rates. A 40k home in 1985 is now an easy half a million. You paid much less for a home with the interest rates where they should be. Right now, your money has virtually no value. That’s why interest rates are so low. You don’t make any money on your money either.
Yep, I had CDs w/ a 13.5% interest rate in the 80s... asked the bank a few Yearss ago? The youngin working was sayin around 2% or less....

I just got an ad from my bank for a 2% CD......for 7 years!

NO thank you.

of course back in the 80's a home loan was also 18% or more.

Is it True, is it Kind, is it Necessary? Wouldn't it be great if we could all talk about a topic we are really interested in.................A-body MoPars?
