New hammer what will it run?

Updating my Dakota this winter that I built for my son to race.
Old combo was
360 10.64.1,9.5 converter,4.10,solid cam 254@.050 .560 lift,j heads,1 3/4" headers
Best in real good air was 1.49 60,7.0s 1/8,11.0's 1/4 @ 118 I think.It started slowing down at the last half of the season so all the more reason to put a stroker combo together.Tore it down a few months ago and number two main bearing was chewed up pretty good and number one rod small end bushing has some play that was noticeable.
New engine is going to be
416 12.43 compression unless we mill the heads
Icon flat tops
Molnar stock size rods(just showed up Friday...was getting a little nervous this build wasn't going to happen this winter)
K1 4" crank
Trick flow heads and intake
Custom erson solid cam(I had the cam made for 1.5 rocker but now I also have 1.6 harlands so depending on some clearance is probably what I will run)
Same header1 3/4"×3" headers
New fti 8" converter said 5600 stall(904)
Same dana s60 4.10
Have a pro systems 750,quick fuel 950 and a custom e85 carb we could try
3170 race weight
My machinist is trying to talk me into using his dyno so we will see.
What do you guys think it run?

Wallace says 9.98/135 with that power and 3170 at the line.
I think 10.10s. (Unless there is chassis and or suspension upgrades) I've seen the 9.99 be a fickle number. Lol.
 
Well, I've been low 6.30s, 1/8th, with a lot less power than that....... but I was almost 700 lbs lighter, lol.
But I agree, everything has to be right to run the hypothetical best.....but I still see 10.30 first time off the trailer........
 
East coast mineshaft air can get really good.
Gonna stick with my mid 10.40’s in typical summer air. Maybe high 20’s low 30’s in mineshaft air.
I honestly don't see trick flow heads and a flat tappet making much if anything over 600 track backed up horsepower.
I figured my old W5 deal when i had it made an honest 640 horsepower. It went 9.80’s at 135@3350 pounds.
That was 13 to 1 with a 273@50 roller.
It later made more horsepower and went faster, but the above is an honest 640 on a well sorted 3350 pound car.
At 3170 it should do the above easy making anywhere close to 640. Just don't remotely see it.

I ended up with .613 lift at the retainer with 1.6 rocker.The 1.5 rocker was very close on the head.
It ended up being 12.79:1.
The kevco pick up was so warped I could see it wasn't flat so put at straight edge on it.Wow is all I can say. Couldn't even bolt it down.Rotor would hit.
The e85 is the first for my dyno guy and he had to make some calls to set up his system.Funny that not everyone was helpful once he said it was on the dyno but we think it's close.I ran the pro system e85 in my car and had exhaust temp guage reading 1200 degrees so very close.My son just bought the e85 750 quick fuel.
I think 112 gas would have been better for the combo after looking at the plugs,timing changes and power.
My headers are not as good and I have mufflers so I'm expecting to loose some.Low tens will be sweet.
 
-1300 foot adjusted altitude at the start of eliminations yesterday (Gainesville Fl). I don’t think it went above sea level all day long. Talk about mineshaft air.
 
It put up better numbers than I thought it would, the power is about where I expected it to be though. Now go have some fun with it! :steering:
 
MHEAD are you running a B3 geometry correction kit?
No if I had more time I would have done the correction, unshroulded the valves and flowed the intake.I keep telling my self we are bracket racers not heads up.

Gotcha that's one way to look at it. The other is the stability from the correction is good insurance for us lower budget bracket guys. .040" seems like a lot of lift to give up. But I get it when you are on a time line ya gotta get er done. Time to get it down the track. Congrats on having it completed and ran on the dyno.

I think there is a race to be had? Still tuning to better times. But new SB build Dakota vs BB Duster? I so rarely run up against a Mopar. Lol.

First great numbers on the new engine. Wow thanks for posting about the pick up tube being bent. I better look at mine before I put it in..sorry if I missed it but, how much milling did it take to make the plate flat?

What brand wide band are you using and numbers you shoot for on e85?
I use an AEM wideband (got it through Summit for ~ $150). As far as e85 tune, my car likes 0.77-0.80 Lambda at WOT.
 
So just a little update,
Son made over 200 passes this past year.Everything stayed together so that was a blessing in it self.
He bought a qf 750 e85 and we finally got it to not stumble leaving with just installing blue pump cams on both sides.
Front springs that was on the truck someone we believe heated to lower it got replaced with some 18'" Landrum springs.This helped greatly thanks to a fellow racers combo and advice.

Old headers was something I fabbed up quick to get at the time my 18 year old drag racing.They was old 1 3/4" hookers 5204 I believe.After pulling them off this winter I'm realizing how bad they are.One header is 4" longer than the other and so on.Any how I fabbed up some new ones that are bigger,straighter radius out of head and same length.I will say it sound wicked but I'm thinking it was because of the f'd up headers
Old headers 1 3/4×3" with 3" race dynomax mufflers
New 1 7/8"×3 1/2" open
I started it up the other day and it sounds like a different vehicle.So much smoother.

Converter we ended up with was an ati due to they are what I have always used and availability from fti at the time.I sent it back to ati this winter but they it's good with the info I give them.

How long are your primary tubes?
 
38" plus or minus some.i used Hedman 12" slip on collectors.This truck I couldn't make all of the primary tubes how i would like them but in my opinion they are way better.
