Hey all, I'm in the process of pulling my slant six, and I'm not sure where to disconnect the fuel lines. I tried pulling the line from the fuel pump, but it just started gushing gasoline. Is this the correct spot to disconnect the line? Am I supposed to drain the fuel tank first? Thanks

no that's right.... where its circled. stick a 5/16" bolt into the hose as soon as you pull the line.

The end of the line is lower than the fuel in the lines....I would drain the tank, if for nothing else than safety.

I wish. I threw a rod in my old 170, so I'm swapping it with a 225 (that may or may not run) in considerably worse condition. Only thing the new engine has going for it is that there's not a hole in the block.
thats no good

what is your time frame?

like 66fyssh said, people often times give slanties away
this is a great forum and im sure you can either find the expertise to get the 225 you have running or a trustworthy one to replace it with

have you had a look in the regional section yet?
it looks like you got the skills to do this job on your own (or the moxy to try it without skills) but you mght find an extra set of hands there

If leaving it a long time, you might blow thru that hose to push the gasoline back into the tank. The hose at the tank usually loops up to a point higher than the highest fuel level so if filled with air the gas won't keep flowing out at the fuel pump since you eliminated the "siphon". If you don't have an air compressor, just attach an extension hose and blow with your mouth.
