318's were the workhorse of Mopar's LA engines before the transition to 360's. You could find them in virtually everything - and there is nothing wrong with them as many here can attest. I don't know what the yard next to his work gets for a 360, but our local yard (Pull-N-Save) charges $300 for a complete engine (air cleaner to oil pan, distributor, starter, alternator, fan & fan clutch, exh manifolds, brackets) plus a $27 core charge so a $327 360 makes the most sense to me if his 318 needs more than that. It will be interesting to learn if anything was previously done to the 318 in the Post #11 picture.
