Stop in for a cup of coffee

I think im getting better at this stuff. Watching videos and learned about light lines helped me match the corners of the bends. While he was cutting and welding i went and shimmed my brake light switch and got my steering shaft cut and rotated 90 degrees. So two mor things off my list. Not...

    Lower bumpstop travel

edit that, I cut mine down by about a HALF INCH I have about an inch between the cut bump stop and the Kframe, running .92" bars, but it feels like the suspension is still sitting high

Please critique my home front-end alignment method

This is what I do. Plastic bags and WD work great. I made some toe plates with some scrap 1x6s. I also cut a piece of hardwood that lands on the edge of the wheel so I have a nice repeatable place to put the level. I also marked the ground with tape showing 20 degrees both ways since the...

Sold my 73 Dart Swinger…had her for 11 years!!!

FYI, I'm not 12 years old and you might want to start acting your age. People who are mature, like myself don't go around calling people names, this is something kids do. I've always liked the car hobby but people like you give it a bad name.

    The thrill is gone?

IF you did not listen to that Allen Jackson song, please do. If you live long enough, you will wake up one day and say, wish I had done such and such when I could. One day, you will not wake up. If you live long enough, one day you will wake up and realize you have outlived most of your...

    Lower bumpstop travel

Yeah exactly. I run with a little under 1" from frame to bump stop with 1.12" bars and I still occasionally contact the bump stop. Granted I do not use a progressive bump stop like the factory ones, but if you hack the top off a factory bump stop it's not a progressive bump stop anymore and...

    rebuilding an alt

There are minor internal differences over the years. The details I don't recall off the top of my head but you may find thin mica insulator or a three piece item later replaced with a two piece item. Its kindof obvious when you have it apart.

    73 duster front end swap

@FM3 Dart has it correct. You can't just "mix and match" grilles from 67-72 with 73-76 cars or vice versa, and you can't mix and match grilles from Plymouths to Dodges either. Using a Duster or later Valiant grille would be the least amount of swapping, but would still require the bumper...

65 Commando stock brake set up

As some know I picked up a 65 Commando about a month ago that has set for 30 plus years. Drums are stuck on, but managed to get the back two off finally. Finding nine inch drums on the car, and I don't think that is correct. I might add that the secondary braking material came off with the...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Finished installing lower control arms on this Subaru Forester. Many of the bolts were pretty rusty. Went to install the serpentine belt and despite my best efforts I cannot get it on. Just ordered one a half an inch longer. Nothing ever seems to go right. But it's a good paying job

    Quarter Mile Gear Selection

Not to mention, the program can run much faster (especially on t-n-t nights). It's a good thing that I like 1/8th. Nearest 1/8 is twenty minutes. Nearest 1/4, not counting pomona (f#@k nhra) is four hours.

    rebuilding an alt

Before opening it up start with the basic checks for the field circuit being grounded or open, and the at the outpput stud isn't grounded. Then do field current draw test on the bench. Ignore the mess. Grounded field alternator. On your isolated field alternator, use a jumper to from the...

understanding a low oil pressure 360

Yea we saw that, just need a little more specifics. But that’s back when we thought it might be a roller, before you said it was a solid flat. Your original post was a tad unclear as to what you thought you were running. Hey Tim, @Newbomb Turk it sounds like you should go put your hands on this...

Please critique my home front-end alignment method

I like it! I already have the cams set for max caster. It has about 0 camber right now though so will need to make some adjustments. The general consensus seems be -0.5 camber.
