Just get the '64-'66 V8 A body cable linkage, bolts right in. Only the slant 6 used the mechanical pivot rod linkage. The later linkage can be made to work, too- but it's not a bolt in.

Factory Service Manual does not list different coils for Slant 6 versus V8. The 1.5 ohm coil and a 0.6 Ballast Resistor is the best match to the Factory Electronic Ignition set up.

Don’t let someone try to sell you a “V8 k-frame” ….1963-1966 slant six and V8 are the same. If upgrading to a V8 it’s also a good idea to get V8 torsion bars and bigger 10” or disc brakes…also the stock 7 1/4 rear won’t hold up to a V8 unless you plan to never get on the gas hard.

The issue with the pan is not the center link. It is the front part of the sump. The later pan hits the K member. @briansb71 If you want to keep the PB shifter, send me a message and I'll give you my phone number

Just so you know, the K frame for an early A is the same whether it is for a slant 6 or a V8. Only '67 and later used different K frames. A '63 will require heater box modifications/deletion to make room for a V8.

Easier than slant to V8. Hunt down the early A slant 6 motor mounts/brackets. The early A transmission crossmember will work fine with the later 904 trans. The later oil pan *should* fit fine and have clearance, since you have a drop center V8 centerlink in the car already. The special pan was...

Slant 6 and V8 use 2 different Z bars. And if I’m not mistaken, yours will also need to come from a 66 or older car. @SSVDP do you have a slant 6 or V8 one you could post a picture of? I have a few here to compare to if you have a confirmed /6 or V8 unit.
