    Electrical Issues

That should be a definite improvement over that flex fan. That style of flex fan doesn't pull much air. The later stock flex fans do, but, the have a problem coming apart after years of flexing and then they start throwing shrapnel through the hood, radiator, and anything nearby. I'm not a big...

How old are you and how long have you raced

I'm 66 and had several race cars through the years, but haven't raced at a track since around 1995. Actually built a 69 Dart Swinger with a 383 in the early 90's and only raced it a couple of times at Union Grove and the Mopar Nats, then traded it on a 69 AMX, the only car my wife was pissed at...

    speedometer cable pinion seal leak

Thanks Dartman, I replaced the large outer seal o-ring and the assembly is dry around it at the case. It has to be getting thru the cable housing assembly. Could you or anyone confirm this is the lip side of the seal in the picture?

How old are you and how long have you raced

I'll be 60 next year. I raced for about five years from a high school junior forward. Got married and found it wasn't affordable on my income. I've been a LOT as a spectator, but not lately. I'd love to have a race only or street/strip car, but it's probably not in the cards at this point. You...

How old are you and how long have you raced

I was reading a post on Moparts about guys burning out on projects. Instead of asking this over there I’d rather ask it here as this is my number one Mopar website. I can’t really say I’m burned out on my blue duster because if I didn’t have my black Duster and be able to race it would be...

340/420 90psi Oil Pressure During Prime

Depends on the drill speed. Most gear driven type drills like a 1/2 chuck drill spin slowly and have tons of torque. But if it spins pretty fast, there you go.

Oil Rings, do I have a problem?

Pig mat is oil absorbent mat. No making fun of my art work! I can get a picture tonight. A 90 deg lip on the front then 3-4”s back leaving about 1” between it and the “bellhousing” for the pig mat. I melt 2 holes through the mat and place the bolts for the cover through the holes. I actually...

340/420 90psi Oil Pressure During Prime

Thanks guys! I will plan on pulling the distributor back out and checking for oil on both heads before installing the intake. I did pour BI oil over the rockers and springs, so now I will slow down, and check the prime on the heads too. Note: I did check for the lifters spinning just after I...

Looking at collecting 60-62 Valiant, in Texas

Thanks for the links, had not seen them. Had looked for your grandad after viewing him winning Carlisle in 2015 on youtube, and found out about the cancer through some members here. Would really have loved to talk to him, the '62 he restored and improved is just about like what I would like to...

Holley power valve kit? Does it still exsist?

Thanks Halifax but the kit I was looking for a like the jet kit but nothing but power valves. 2.5-9.5 singles or doubles from days ago. Ever since Holley fixed the back fire issue, I’ve not seen such a kit. I’m not as up on aftermarket kits that are the compatible. I see quick time has a kit...

    speedometer cable pinion seal leak

That’s what the 65 TSM aays. If you’re getting oil outside of the câble, then I’d suspect either a bad outer seal (large O Ring) or the sleeve assembly is defective. A new cable assembly (if you can find one) and seal likely would fix the issue. If fluid is weeping up the inside of the cable...
