What Externally balanced flex plate do you use on a stock 5.9 Magnum when using a 8" 727 convertor?

The stock magnum flexplate with one hole ground oval and all of the weights knocked off of the torque converter.

If your stroker is neutral balanced, you can use a 5.2 Magnum flexplate.

Are there any catches to using a flex plate for an LA and LA 360 Torque Converter on a stroked 360 Magnum or will any LA flex plate bolt up to the Magnum and I can choose either the 10" or 11" 360 Torque converter?

i agree on the B&M one. also Huges engines showes a magnum engine flex plate for sell, but they dont show a picture of it

NVRMIND, I reread the post and it says i can use the B&M flexplate only if I get a specially balanced magnum torque converter...I'll just get the magnum flex plate and fit it as described with a rat tail file.

The 5.2 Magnum is neutral balanced, where the 5.9 Magnum is not. One of the torque converter bolt holes must be offset ground slightly to line up.

You need a flexplate for the 5.9 magnum, and a neutral balanced/non-weighted converter for a 727.

You didn't say what year your Magnum engine or flexplate is, but the first couple years of 5.9s used a neutral flexplate and an externally balanced convertor, later years went to an externally balanced flexplate and a neutral convertor. I'm not sure what the cutoff date was, '94-'95? maybe...

you're kind of in a tough spot in going from /6 to V8 in that you have to account for all the peripherals (mounts, oil pan, maybe steering, exhaust, cooling, transmission) so it's not just a slam dunk swap. going to a magnum will likely be cheaper if you're trying to attain a specific HP goal...
