Yeah, it depends on a lot of things like rpms at cruising speed etc.. However, I'm wondering what the normal operating temp is of a 318?

Cruising steadily at 55mpg the engine temp ranged from 190-210F in about 90 degree weather. Also, my belt was probably slipping this whole time as it just blew and I will replace it tomorrow but I was wondering what the base temp is for a 318?? Thanks!

So I replaced the fuel filters, and installed a new fuel pump the other day and it has been running great!!! I just wanted to post so people with similar issues may be able to diagnose their problem off this post. ...I'm sure now that I've said this it won't run great anymore though... Thanks...

....Or maybe the fuel pump is just not pulling fuel. $33 is pretty cheap for the stock replacement http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRT-M60514/. I wonder if I should try this too. Any recommendations? Where can I find fuel lines?

The particles are before the fuel pump which is why I'm happy there's a filter in place before it. This is also why I suspect that the problem is before the fuel filter/pump like in the gas tank or fuel lines. What's a tank drop entail?

Why's that? Because it's robbing the pump or making it work harder? I definitely may be incorrect but my thinking is wouldn't I want to protect the pump before all the debris got to the pump?

You're right, I would think precision and the shape/size of the spacer would affect performance; however I suppose not. Meanwhile, a small tweak in the internals of an engine or other minuscule adjustment elsewhere could prove for disaster.... I admit, the spacer IS weird. Thanks for everyone's...

Ok, but is the overlapping spacer and gasket restricting the performance?

Right, it came with square gaskets. However, I don't understand why it has a wood block spacer and gasket that block the intake? Should I trim them to the intake?

As I was enjoying the beautiful weather today in my Duster, I noticed it began to hesitate if I would let off the gas and then step on it again. Then, when coming to a stop, it would stall out and be difficult to start..almost as if flooded. Sometimes it floods when I start it after it's warm...

I have a 904 auto trans that slips when cold. When I put my Duster into reverse, (there's usually a loud clunking) it slips and then the car gently starts reversing as it slips and then eventually finds reverse in about 15 feet or so. This usually happens while cold. None of the other gears...

Awesome! Thanks for the valuable advice! The 500 is under carbed in your opinion... I thought you have to be careful with too large a carb? Guess not! I was thinking headers definitely too. Hooker, Hedman, ...., any preferences?
