Another Ebay Flipper Who Hasn't a Clue

I see more and more ads like that all the time. People that are either completely clueless or are hoping that the buyer is.

    holley problems

In my limited experience, Holley carbs don't HAVE problems, they ARE problems. I've discovered that if you want to go all-out, top end, drag race, acceleration to the max then Holley carbs are for you. If you want a car that will actually idle, has good low end power and overall driveability...

    Has anybody seen this "conversion"?

I used a Scarebird conversion on my Scamp and it's been great for 3 years now. And when I eventually need new pads, it won't be difficult to find them. Only embarassing to ask for the Cavalier pads..lol

MTANDREWS, am I mistaken or is that the Rev. Gary Davis in your avatar? The pictures a little small and grainy for me to be sure.

    Edelbrock or Carter 600-625 cfm

I'd like to have a good, ready to run, Edelbrock or Carter carburetor. 600, 625, or maybe even 650 cfm. It's going on a 360. I have a Holley street avenger on the car now, and am tired of messing with it. Electric choke would be preferred but is not totally necessary. I'd be willing to purchase...

    My Duster is a nuisance...

My Scamp is a little loud. Not Harley with straight pipes loud, but it has a rather healty exhaust note. I've NEVER had a neighbor problem while driving it. All I ever get it a thumbs up, or a shouted "nice car" or somebody making the universal "do a burnout" gesture. But then again this is...

    Has anybody tried Freeze-12?

Thanks for the replies, I think I'm gonna try it. It's not actually for my Scamp, but for a 1986 Mustang GT convertible I bought for a driver. Gotta have A/C, you can't have the top down all the time. It will burn you up on a sunny day!!

    Has anybody tried Freeze-12?

I've been looking into this stuff as an R-12 replacement and was wondering if anybody had actually used it and if so what your experiences are. I'm just really not feeling switching to R-134a, unless there's just no reasonable alternative.

I think I might have scored a great pickup today

Imagine that. It would figure, wouldn't it? I was afraid that the price was too good to be true, I hadn't checked for myself to see but like I said I would have ordered as many as I could afford at that price and re-sold them for a tidy profit.......another scheme shot to hell...lol.

Things I do at car shows

I personally don't do judged shows. I know what's wrong with my car, I don't need anybody to tell me. I drive my car pretty regularly, and it shows. My original 1972 paint has chips, there are door dings, and I don't detail the underside of the car. The engine gets a little dirty from time to...

I think I might have scored a great pickup today

I would have bought every one in the store at that price and just paid the core charges. You could make money easily re-selling those!!

CAR HUNT! or BOF & me car shopping!

Uh, unless I'm mistaken I was the guy on the phone when the 15 year old was buying the Dart in Sidney. I called at about that time and on that day, and he told me to hold on somebody was there looking at it and covered up the phone and talked to them for a minute and got back on the phone with...

65 craigslist find 3500 in columbus

I've never seen this car in person, but the previous poster is right that it's been on and off of Craigslist for quite awhile and the guy hasn't had any luck selling it which tells me there's a problem. I first remember seeing it late last summer, and yes the price has fluctuated all over the place.

    225 Slant 6 to 3.9 V6 conversion?

I had two Dakotas with the 3.9. The engine is a 360 with two cylinders lopped off. Same bore, stroke, etc. That being said, I would not put one in an A-Body. I could never get any decent mileage out of either of them, could not break 20mpg. If it were me and I wanted more power I would go ahead...

For sale or Trade UP....66 Cuda

I live close to Glow Worm, and although I don't know him personally I have seen his car up close and personal at some local events, and let me tell you it is NICE. Good luck selling it, although I hope it stays in the area. There just aren't enough Mopars around here!!

To put a wing or not??

Don't do it... wings are for ricer kids that don't know any better....I've seen a few on Darts and have never liked the looks of them. If you put on a wing you might as well get neons and a 5000 watt stereo... lol

    fs: 68 dart

WHY oh WHY must all the decent cars at a good price be 2000 miles away??? You must have an abundance of solid old cars out there on the left coast, it seems like everything I see for sale on the internet is either in California, Oregon, or Washington state. Although I do see quite a few from...

    Scarebird front disc swap-my experience

Hey Timdart, it amazes me that there is such a following for American muscle cars in Europe. I saw quite a few when I was over there in 84, although I don't recall seeing any A bodies. I do recall that Lucerne Switzerland was swarming with 66 and 67 Mustangs, I saw several including a silver 67...

    Scarebird front disc swap-my experience

Timdart, glad you found the writeup informative and entertaining. Just a note though, on this side of the pond we spell it "humor"... lol. Scarebird front disc swap-my experience

Well, I HAD 10 inch drums all the way around, and in my opinion they WERE that bad...I got tired of the brake fade coming down the rather large hill that I have to go over regularly and the sharp pull to the right anytime I had to apply the brakes even moderately quickly. I adjusted on those...
