Convert 1968 Dodge Dart 2wire alternator to 1wire Tuff Stuff TFF-8509DDP

Hello all. I know this is an old topic but being a newb (one that particularly disdains electrical!) I wanted to get some advice on this conversion. About a year ago I installed a red top battery in my 68 dodge dart GT and last week I wound up on the side of the road with a completely dead...

    Water Pump/Radiator Questions

I haven't been able to get my 68 Dart 318ci to cool properly and after doing two drain/flush and replacing the thermostat, I'm now replacing the water pump. When I did the drain/flush I replaced first with all 50/50 Peak coolant and then again with about a 70/30 mix (mostly water) plus a...

Lubricate Loaded Calipers? Brakes dragging intermittently

Ok, so now I've been able to go for a few drives with the new power disc conversion in and new wheels and it turns out that my brakes are randomly dragging. It's typically once I'm stopped at a long light, then I go to hit the gas and can tell the brakes are locked up. Then I stomp the brake...

    A quick thanks!

A quick thanks to all the members who helped me figure out what to do with my budget this year, disc-brake conversion, vacuum problems, etc. etc. I really appreciate all the help and now should be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor pretty reliably! I'm especially loving the Coy wheels! A...

    Vacuum Problem

Ok, so I have the new vacuum tree installed. Per the picture of my old vacuum tree you can see I have two lines running to the distributor plus a tiny line(leftmost in the picture)...and now I have the big 3/8 line running out the top and an additional 1/4 port that I have taped over right now...

    Disc Brake Conversion Help

Ok! More questions for the pro's! :) I'm working on installing my disc break conversion kit from classic performance. I must admit it's been frustrating for a few reasons but overall is going pretty well. I was hoping someone could help me with a few questions tho... 1) The attached...

Is this the intake manifold vacuum?

Another dumb question for all you pro's out there. I'm changing out my manual drum brakes on my 68 dart (318ci) and converting to power and disc in the front. I'm trying to figure out where the booster vacuum hose would connect to on the intake manifold. Is what I have circled where I would...

    Is this right?

This pic is of my brake pedal--is the beaded chain connected from the firewall to the brake light switch correct? I also found this broken spring under the drivers seat--does anyone know if the spring might have been used insteed of the beaded chain or what it otherwise could have been used...

Brake Booster fit with stock manifold?

Does anyone happen to know whether a 7 or 8" brake booster will fit with the stock exhaust manifold? 1968 Dodge Dart with 318 ci. Thinking about converting front to disc and upgrading to power brakes using a Summit kit. Thanks in advance!

    Crack in Y connector

I just found I have a crack in the y connector of my single exhaust system. (68 dart, 318) I was thinking this might be a good opportunity to have dual exhaust put in with two down tubes from the stock manifolds. I'm not going racing any time soon so the manifolds should continue to be work fine.

    Ok...rethinking how to use $6k

Ok, those of you that read my first post found I was focused solely on whether to rebuild my 318 or go to a 360. After reading the feedback I've since rethought my strategy on how to deploy the $6k I have to use this year for my 68 Dart GT. After more thought I feel if I start out upgrading...

    Rebuild 318 or go Crate

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on getting my 68 Dart 318 road worthy and am having trouble deciding on whether to rebuild the 318 or replace with a crate engine. I was really trying to keep my costs this year to $6k...but it seems like this may be unrealistic with the goals I have. I'll...
