15 x 7s, what size would you run on a 68 four door dart ?

I just bid and won 4 15-7 cop wheels with lugnut covers off ebay- should be here by March 6th, Later that weekend, operation suspension upgrade begins LOL. Looks like I have nearly everything I need. I am switching to the BBP obviously. I have a Dana 35 from a wrangler going in the back. I...

    Shockmount-spring pad thingy

I think I need new ones. and got one from Speedway, they send me the wrong on for the left side. I could be wrong, but they kinda look like they won't fit anyway. The right side one on my 68 four door dart is looking like it is going to lose the shock mount part before too long. Anyone know...

Finally got all the parts together- I think?

A local fella parted out a 73 duster, and viola, I am doing the swap in two weeks. I got upper control arms to ball joint. I ordered the correct ball joint for the swap- shoots, I should say, it's a 4 door 68 dart, will post a pic of it. I am going to BBP for wheel selection, and of course...

Welp, here I go again. Parts in or on the way!

I have laid off the ol' wifey dart, had lots going on, but collected a part or two here or there- the Dr Diff was the biggest piece. So what am I doing? Basically, I am doing a BBP brake and suspension swap on it, and putting 15" rims and replacing the 13s. It sits so low that I can't even...

Got give it up for Dr Diff

My Dart, or my wife's dart I should say, has been "back burnered" for the last year and a half due to a variety of reasons. That being said, I got around to ordering the BBP disc conversion for it. I went to go order, the auto cost of shipping was nearly 500.00 to Hawaii! Ugh, that old chestnut...

Anyone run the Weber knock off 38 progressive 2bl here on their 225?

I was just given one, but not sure if it is worth the effort of buying the throttle and kick down linkage to put it on the motor yet- I am still tinkering with the 225 on the engine stand, installing cam etc- the 2bl manifold is at the media blasters and then back for some polishing I think...

Getting ready to build a shop- first time in many decades I have done so- perusing this forum for ideas.

I live deep in the jungle, a tropical rain forest, next to steaming lava fields. - It sounds more like the begining to a cheesy romance novel than a topic on an Abody site I guess? But anyway- I am building two 40x30 slabs with a 6' gap between them- on that gap will set a 40' shipping...

Back on da road, running good!

Got an oil pan- the correct one, from Rusty- thank you very much- the one that I put a hole in was even the wrong one- Rusty got me the right one (and I will be sending him one as well) - but man, is it running great! I am moving out of my auto shop I was renting to save money for another biz...

Picture of the trunk weather stripping please?

I am really confused how the bottom part of the trim glues to the body. It's pretty easy in the channel on the top, but no channel on the bottom- I could really use a pic, mine was missing when I bought it.

Lots of parts coming in for my 68 Dart- going to start a thread on the work

Got in a spare head, an oil pan, Oregan cams cam, gaskets, two barrel manifold for the 225. That is going together on the engine stand. Out comes the 170! Also, have bored out the exhaust manifold to 2 1/2" and will replace exhaust all the way out. Lots of small tweaks to the 225, including...

Working on this Jeep YJ rearend swap into my 68 it looks like

First question, it's a timing thing, but does anyone know the spring perch to spring perch measurement for a 68 Dart off hand? I can't get to mine until tomorrow, but going can measure the jeep rearends today. I want to go BBP on my Dart, and it looks like the best way to go is a jeep Wrangler...

    7 1/4 VS 8 1/4

I have a 68 dart with a 7 1/4 with Small bolt pattern axles. I want to convert to BBP, for rim selection etc. I understand there are 8 1/4s, came in Dusters and the like? That have BBP and will bolt directly in to the 68 with same hub to hub width? I have ignored this axle my whole life...

Why is my oil pan bolt touching my drag link? Pic included.

I was under the car putting back together my dart, and noticed the oil pan bolt hitting the drag link (I think that is the name for it)- is this the wrong pan for the car or something?

Anyone have one of these laying around, or do I need to fix it?

Again, as I was really getting into cleaning this motor up to put it back in, turned out, I think it is a dirt shield? one ear is broke off. I was thinking about putting a WTB on the classified, but not sure if anyone would know it if they saw it. Is this model specific or common on the Six...

What? I have a hole in my carb? How'd that get there?

Had the engine out, repairing the oil pan and working hard to button it up good. Cleaning up everything, and I see this hiding at the base of the carb. WTF, how'd that get there? I am replacing the motor within 6 months and it will be a 2 bbl, so JB weld it is.

what's the favorite replacment starter for these sixes?

I forgot how massive and heavy these old starters are! Have you guys been putting the smaller starters on them yet? Any issues? I took mine out last night- the bottom stud bolt had welded itself to the starter and came out with the starter. Wasn't as easy a pull as I hoped.

Altenator and power steering pump options- oh, also water pump

My power steering pump, alternator are looking a bit long in the tooth, a bit rustier than I like, lots of years of sitting in Hawaii temp and heat. I don't' want to get stranded, and I am taking the 170 out this week and putting in the 225. I been searching the old interwebs, but I would like...

Someone got some tricked out /6 head they want to part with? Or stock?

I am putting the 225 in the car weekend after next. I don't want the car down for very long, so I am skipping the head work and cam I have for now. So I have things timed out like this- put the 2bbl manifold on the car, have 2-1/2" exhaust put in all the way to the back. I will run the car...

best 2bbl carb for /6 225 super six manifold.

got a 2 bbl manifold from a member here (thanks rusty!) and getting a carb for it. I am not sure if I have to have that, or can jut run a cheap Motorcraft 2 bbl, or...

    170 vs 225 differences

Well, I went and put the 225 I got on the engine stand- but oops, it's not a 225 its a 170. Soon as I got it upright on the engine stand- 3 freeze plugs staring at me. I got it for basically nothing, was told it was a 225, my bad, didn't positively ID it, got a lot of parts like trans and...

Well, darn, just put a hole in the oil pan.

Well, my too low 68 Dart got a lava rock between the oil pan and the road, oil pan lost badly. SOOO - I am going to do the BBP swap on the brakes, so I can use the rims I want. Got a machine shop that will redrill the axles and drums. Also will mill the heads on my- wait for it- 225 to replace...

    Radiator upgrade

I have the stock slant six radiator in my 68 four door dart right now, thinking of an upgrade. I live in Hawaii, and radiant temps in the tropical sun can be brutal. I am also going to put in AC as well. We actually have bad traffic sometimes. So I am a little worried about cooling. So I am...

    1974 Dart- always BBP rims?

I may be purchasing a 1974 Dart , a two hour drive from me, with no title, kinda rough. I got to thinking, aren't all 1974 Darts Big bolt pattern and front discs? My back door window is really hard to roll up and down, and I don't see a good reason that is happening either.

The newest "building a slant six" thread

Not looking for serious HP here, low end torque is a very good thing, probably will never see the north side of 4k, and even then only when passing on Saddle road. I got a two barrel manifold coming, have a 38 Weber. got a 225 /6 that is bone stock. I will have to look at what year again to...
