    ne heat!!

New ones are available. Made of plastic, they don't look original, but work fine. NAPA has them. Probably other places as well.

    ne heat!!

I believe thats a vacuum resevoir. There will be a vac line that goes from the carb to the vac resevoir. There will be another line that goes from the vac resevoir to the control in the dash. There will be vac line that goes from the water valve to the control in the dash as well.

    Dipstick for magnum

Don't sweat it. I've got a good (twisted) sense of humor. I guess it comes down to whether the diameter of the tubes are the same. I have no idea. I am assuming that when mopar made magnum crate motors, they used the same oil pan and dipstick kit that they sell seperately. What happens when...

    Dipstick for magnum

Ok, maybe I'm the dipstick. Forgive me, the kids have been sick, so we're a little tired around here. The one on the motor (from a durango) is tall and I suppose it looks a little out of place. Looking at the photos of magnum crate motors, they seem to have a nice short relatively straight...

    Dipstick for magnum

What can I replace the stock Durango dipstick tube with? Magnum crate motors seem to have a straighter, shorter dipstick tube. The stock one is pretty tall and maybe I'll run into hood clearance problems with the duster.

Bypass hose for Edelbrock Magnum intake to old style pump

I may end up going to a similar setup because I still can't make it work. I went to a stainless fitting that's shorter, but can't thread it in far enough to help. The threads in the manifold are all messed up and I may have to buy a 3/4 npt tap to clean them up. I may also need to go to that...

Bypass hose for Edelbrock Magnum intake to old style pump

Nice set up. I don't think it will clear my Bouchillon AC compressor mount, though. However, it gives me something to think about. How did you attach the AN fitting to the hose barb on the pump?

Bypass hose for Edelbrock Magnum intake to old style pump

Anybody use the Edelbrock 7577 Magnum Air Gap Intake and the LA style water pump? What bypass hose do you use? The standard LA bypass hose can be forced into place by trimming it down, but ends up somewhat twisted/kinked.

Kevko Oil Pickup Tab on main cap

I'll put some duct seal on the pickup and see what it measures.

Kevko Oil Pickup Tab on main cap

Ok, I have the bolt welded to the main cap. What should the gap be from the pickup to the pan?

Which mechanical fuel pump for 360

It has the old style snout on it so no extension needed. The cam is P4876348 380hp cam (288/292 and .501/.513).

Which mechanical fuel pump for 360

Good photos. I'll have to look for those fittings. Were they all hardware store items or auto parts items. I think I have the 3/8 flare tool. Have to look. I think that pump is only rated for around 6 psi.

Which mechanical fuel pump for 360

Ok, I bought one (6902). It clears fine, but what should I use for fuel line to the carb? Did you change the clocking of the openings? Is there a barbed fitting that threads in for the line to the tank?

    5.9 Magnum into a 73Duster

I have been waiting for over a month for a replacement Kevco pan that got beat up by ups. Hopefully in this week. I'm not going the full on computer route like you, but just putting on a carb manifold and changing the front to old style. Best of luck to you. I am enjoying this thread as well.

What type of tool to pull 01 magnum one piece damper?

What kind of puller do I need to remove the one piece damper off my 01 magnum 5.9? There aren't the usual threaded holes for the normal puller. Some sort of three jaw puller?

    Magnum valve springs, again

Is there a particular year/car that I should look for in the yards or when I am discussing with the counter guy? Part number is probably different too?

    Magnum valve springs, again

All I can find is 1.64 installed height. Monicatti has the prices down to 299.00, still a chunk of change. What tool do people recommend for on the car valve spring compressors? Must need a chevy one?

    Magnum valve springs, again

That's for a 3/8th valve stem opposed to the 8mm, would that make any difference? I haven't been able to find any other measurements for these springs other than 1.42 od. I can really see the appeal of the chevy valve springs, etc. Looking at a set of the mopar springs, retainers, and...

Have a part number for those retainers?

    Magnum valve springs, again

Sounds like I'll stick with their recommendation on the springs and the retainers, not sure what luck I'll have finding used retainers here.

Which mechanical fuel pump for 360

Which mechanical fuel pump should I buy for my magnum. I have converted the front to the older style water pump and pulley set up. I am using a 380hp crate motor cam so nothing too radical. I just want something that doesn't interfere with the water pump and has adequate flow for the job.

    Magnum valve springs, again

I know this has been discussed someplace, but I usually have bad luck searching for threads. I have a P4876348 380hp cam (288/292 and .501/.513) that I want to stick in a magnum. The mopar book recommends the 5249464 spring. I thought I read somewhere in here that their two spring offerings...

Kevko Oil Pickup Tab on main cap

I am waiting for a replacement Kevco pan because UPS destroyed mine during shipment. I am probably going to skip the windage tray as well. I suppose just changing that particular bolt to a stud is a bad idea? My welding skills aren't great, I see slag, etc falling into the motor. I guess I...

crate motor cam in truck motor

I bought it and a used flywheel. So, now I have to figure out how to install it. It'll be a first for me. I am going to change the timing chain while we're at it. Suppose I'll have to get a degree wheel as well. Not sure what spec to install it at. Whats the term, straight up or 0 degrees...

crate motor cam in truck motor

Actually, this is going in a 76 Duster. I am using a edelbrock 7577 intake and a Holley 770 street avenger. Not sure on rear gearing yet, toss up between 3.73 and 3.55 with 4 spd od. This from the page: The Mopar Part Number is P4876348. The Mopar Advertised Duration is 288/292 with the...

crate motor cam in truck motor

How well would a crate motor cam I found on Ebag work in an otherwise unmodified 01 magnum truck motor I have? I assume I have lower compression than a crate motor, due to different pistons? I would also have to change to the other mopar springs and retainers? I am interested in this because...
