    upper control arm bolts

Don't forget that you can't turn the bolt to remove them, it has a flat side in the adjuster cams. When mine get that rusted i use a 2 FT. breaker bar on the nut (after penetrating oil of some kind). They either turn loose or snap the bolt. If the bolt snaps i have always been able to drive...

Not a Mopar, but I need help with my tow vehicle

OK, all of you late model Mechanics. I have a 1999 Suburban that has developed a very slight acceleration stumble. More of an irritation than any serious problem at this point. I don't yet even have a "check engine" light, it is more a seat-of-the-pants feeling My code reader/analyzer says...

    gills and spears

I've got a single gill for the left side that doesn't look to bad. PM me if you"re interested, but I have been looking for spears for 4 years now. They are made of unobtainium. If you want the entire trim set-up you will have to become the luckiest man on earth. I have about decided that I...

Small Bolt Pattern Rally Wheels For Sale

I still have the beauty rings if anyone is interested. I have been told that they are either not Chrysler made or that they have been modified because of the slot cut in them for the valve stem. Original rings had drilled holes. They are still a good solid ring with little surface rust and...

I just can't let it go!!

Hey Mike, I'm not much of a "poster" myself. Mostly just haunt the forum and read others' posts. But any time I log on and find a post you started I read it first! I don't know what was said, or by who, I didn't bother to go find his rant, because if it pissed you of it sure wasn't anything I...

    Idler Arm Help

After tons of letter writing and with the help of many good parts stores, I've gotten largely to the bottom of the question. There is a problem with how the mid-grade parts are built! First, the NAPA part listed for the 1969 Barracuda fits fine, but they have made the mount bushing shorter so...

    Idler Arm Help

I'm rebuilding the front end of the shark. It is a 68 Barracuda, 318 car, with power steering I got my kit from PSC in Phoenix, a company that I've used before and like. They sent a McQuay-Norris idler arm PN FA604. It seems to have to little "bend" in it. Compared to the old idler the end...

    For Cudagirl "Nella"

This is Jeanna. We got her when she and my daughter both were needing a good freind. She had been ignored for 12 years and was a real piece of work! (Jeanna, not my daughter Kat, althought she had her moments also) Kat has owned her for 6 years now and they have become quite a team

    Front end rebuild

Hey, I like that! I thought I would have to cut and roll my own and was wondering how to locate the hole for the torsion bar adjuster. Guess I'll head to Mancini for a minute!

    Front end rebuild

One offset will go inside and one will go outside. What you are really doing is moving the outer end of the control arm (upper ball joint) either forward or back depending on whether you want more or less caster. You probably want more on an A-Body.

    Front end rebuild

I'm starting the front end rebuild on the Shark. A 1968 Barracuda, 318 car with 10" manual drums and power steering. I have decided to stick with the original style components and torsion bars, add a sway bar, and go with Poly Bushings. But, I would like to use offset uppers in order to get...

    Starting troubles/carb spacer ???

I'm betting on vapor lock. The fuel in your line gets hot enough to evaporate and starve the carb. Turning the car over long enough refills the line and float bowl. Make sure that your fuel line before and after the pump doesn't run so close to the exhaust manifold (or any other heat source)...

Anybody let High School body shop

I had a local High School repair my Suburban after a slight "Fender Bender". I expected them to fill the dent with bondo and slap on a closely matching paint, but the y went much further. The fabricated and welded in a repair patch, filled, primed and painted the entire rear quarter (on a...

Just Suspension HP torsion bars DEAL....

Ok, I'm getting ready to rebuild my front end this spring on my 318 powered Barracuda with stock 318 torsion bars. Money is tight so I could afford one or the other, but not both. Am I better off taking advantage of this offer, or spending about the same amount for a Sway-Bar kit and sticking...

    is this lug pattern right?

I'll bet that someone removed drum brakes from the front and installed 70's styled discs. That woud give you 5X4.5 in fron and the original 5X4 in the rear

ok 2 more wiring questions for /6 to 318 conversion

I think that switch on the tranny is the neutral safety switch. The "missing" brown wire probably didn't come from the shifter, but was merely tied somewhere near it. If I'm right, the wire came from the starter relay up in the engine bay, and if you dont replace it, the car won't turn over...

wife laid her opinion on me and i dont like it

My wife claims she likes my 68 Barracuda rag-top, but then turns around and calls it the G-D Plymouth! Of course I guess she said the same thing about all of my Dusters and Darts and I married her anyway. She thinks a 68 Toronado is high class! Not quite sure why I keep that woman around.....

    Your First Car

I hate to admit it, but my first 5 cars were late 60's, early 70's, Darts or Dusters. I bought them out of Junkyards with a /6 and a three speed for $50.00, drove them until they quit or needed an oil change, whichever came first, then abandoned them and let the Michigan State Police haul them...
