just look at the clearances on an LS engine. everything is tighter then a nun's asshole. also, look at oiling system & take a closer look at the pistons they use. if one tried to run clearances like that on a LA block it'll fry itself pretty fast. bottom line, you can beAt on a 500+hp 427cid...

the Chev LS series is a far cry from 40+ year old designed mopar smallblock. I wouldn't compare the two.

banana oil, polyolesters, & diesters. not really synthetic oil as compared to today. more like a different type of oil. the Germans however did make 100% synthetic fuels.

hmmm, if it were me, I'd go in a different direction: ie dished pistons and a very small combustion chamber. but thats just me....

after your mech. cam is broken in you don't need zddp anymore. frankly, you shouldn't need zddp during breakin either. 40 years later I would think that castings would be much better. certainly todays oils are light years ahead of the "old school" oils.

I'd pass on the tray. If you really feel its nessasary to have some oil control around the crank counter weights, go with a scraper. plus on a stroker, if your gonna use a tray, watch the clearance between the counter weight & the tray.
