Is it ok to use a chrome 4 pin in place of an orange 4 pin ecu? orange one will no longer start the car,no spark. Used chrome one will. Just dont want to mess anything up.

What type of oil pressure guage is better? are you using? Electrical? or Mechanical? I have an electrical at present but not real sure of its accuracy.I am thinking of going mechanical? Not sure though if its worth the effort.

Yes I did have it 180 out. I will restart it this evening and set the timing and check for leaks and such. I have some linkage on 727 to adjust as well. Sure am glad it started so easily.

Sweet! I was thinking thats the way the 1 one 318 was -laying down. I went back out rewired the dist. to match the new number one position and got the fuel pump wired up permanant and low and behold she roared to life!! AND I MEAN ROOOAAARRRDD- Scared the pooh out of me. But wow she sounds...

Yeah thats what I was thinking. The shaft is way down in there,and sort of hard to put in with the engine setting in the floor. I did put it in with the intake on though,and it wasnt easy like that.

I put it on its side on the driver inner fender. I guess that would be counted as horizontally. I didnt know it would make a difference,but what do I know!! I am sure enough going to upright it and see if it cools off. thanks

I just checked my dist. On the compression stroke { finger over #1 plug hole method} on #1 . If I am out 180 degrees where will the rotor point? If I am out 180? How do I correct it ? Pull dist. up and simply spin shaft 180?

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense. I have to recheck the dist. in regards to being 180 out. I was so sure I got it right,but maybe not.I had engine on compression stroke on #1 on tdc and rotor pointing at #1, but I am sure enough going to recheck it.

Trying to fire off new 360. Coil is getting hot! Car wont start. I installed all new ignition. Dist. coil, and orange box. why would coil get so hot?

Going to purchase a new alternator. Some show internal regulator some say external. My 72 Dart has a regulator mounted on firewall.If I get an internal reg., what do I do with the wiring that went to reg. on firewall? Anything ? I dont know much about eletrical, I just want to do it right.

What wires would need to be upgraded in order to run a 120 amp alt.? Would reg. need upgraded as well?

Have any of yall put ignition box inside the car. Also I have a 120 amp alt. which came with the engine off a 350 series van.Will the 120 amp alternator cause problems in my 72 Dart? Seems as though I read that someone melted some wiring with a 100 amp !!
