I went with DOT 5 years ago after the tireless job of sanding and painting my car. It is great, no spongy feeling, no moisture collection, won't damage paint, etc. But that does come at a slight cost. Be aware, if you take your car on a trip, take brake fluid with you. It's just one of those...

I think it depends on what you are working on and for what purpose. Driver or something like that, do what you feel is better and can afford. A restoration or such might be a different answer. I agree with bed liner for some things (like mentioned above) and undercoat definitely has it's place...

I used acetone, worked decent.

You can brush it too. Just make sure the surface is not too cold.

Does anyone install glass anymore? No, I don't mean Safelite! I am looking for someone to come install a windshield and back glass in a 69 Dart. Anyone know of such a person in the Western Maryland area? I have brand new Precision gaskets, so hopefully that makes it easier.

I don't believe so. I have 3 original 69 hoods and have seen no sign of seam sealer on them. Maybe someone else can chime in too
