Best thing I found about my shifter is that no one can figure out how to get it out of park. Took it in to get the tires rotated and they called me up to help them move it into the bay:) I guess it's kind of a theft deterrent system:}

I converted my 63 dart with this one. Comes with everything you need. Has micro switches for reverse lights and neutral safety, have been running it for almost 4 yrs with no issues at all. Also it only needs a hole cut for the cable routing. no major mods needed...

It's called peal and seal. I put it in my car too. Very similar to all the name brands. Does not have any odor at all. Even in NewMexico. Sticks very well.

Another vote for the Home Depot/Lowes peel and seal. There are rumors out there that when it gets hot it will smell like tar or such. They are false rumors. I use it in the New Mexico sun and no such odor.

could there have been a remote oil filter? Possibly feed and return line holes? nevermind it looks like they go into the drivers compartment. I'm sure they didn't put the filter in the glovebox:)

I would do the blue tint but light. It's not a permanent mod. you could always redo it later on if you don't like it. I'm just thinking that with that much glass it would help in the looks and cooler driving.

What is a good gauge of metal for patching panels? I have a 63 dart and the metal is pretty solid. What would be the right thickness to use for repairs and changes I want to make? thanks

Well, I got the buckets halfway installed and I didn't like the look. So they are coming back out and I will be staying with the bench seat. I just think the bench seat looks more at home in my car. Thanks for all the help though.

Thanks Redfish, There is nothing in the way underneath and the floor is pristene. Not even a spec of rust anywhere. I can always modify it if it doesn't feel safe. Thanks again.

I have a set of buckets I want to put in my 63 dart but the mounting holes don't line up by a long shot. My plans are to weld 1/8" by 3 1/2 fender washers to the inside and outside of the floor pans for reinforcement and go from there. Is this a safe way to mount the seats or should I try to...

Just my opinion but, I think the vinyl will give it a cleaner look. Maybe throw a light grey line in there too. Keep us posted on your progress. I'm thinking of the same thing too. Are you going to drive the car speakers through the amp also?

That looks like a nice fit. What color are you going to do the interior in? Will that be a closed box?

James, That's not what FABO is about. We are supposed to be a community that shares info and learns from our experiences. Possibly they have done it the same way because they were installing new seals. I don't know for sure. Why would you post a procedure and not tell anyone? I just don't get it.

James, Can you post your method of removal and installation? I know you have been insulted and it was not even called for. I posted here too so maybe I'm A clown also. There are alot of folks here that are open to new and different ideas. At least PM me with it since I may be doing the same...

So, you scrap maybe six or seven screws and don't have to take out the windshield? Sounds like a no brainer to me. I bet it holds just as well screwing in new ones from the bottom too. Good post houdini!! Wait a minute......Are they bolts or screws? How do you get the new ones in if they are bolts?

One suggestion, don't leave the rear window down when playing with the bows. I was installing mine on my dart(after the paint) and was not watching the other end of the bow that was scratching the paint while I was on the other end. Still have a couple of nice scratches in the clearcoat. LOL...
