    Best 3/8 fuel pump solution?

If you go electric this switch will cut off the fuel supply with oil pressure loss. I wouldn't run an electric pump without it. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/crt-a68301?seid=srese1&gclid=CP77hqOHosoCFQWUfgodu_gJUw

Smallish roller cam for DD 318LA

You said your block is an "85"? I thought the roller blocks came about a few years later. I could be wrong though.

New Engine, Hard starting, Likes Lots of Advance

I'm guessing that you installed the timing set yourself. Did you install the gears with the dots facing each other with #1 at TDC? If you did then it is 180* out. Seen this many times also.

    Fuel needs

When you say on the Dyno, is the engine on a stand or in the car? That could rule out a lot of issues.

SUCCESS! Broken Dipstick Tube Removal Write up

Local hardware stores have split collar clamps that could be mounted very low on the tube. drill and add a couple of threaded push bolts. Never tried it but I think it would work.

Oil pump and timing chain questions

it is easier to line the marks up with the marks at 12 and six. Once the chain is on your at TDC for #6. Just rotate the crank one revolution until the crank and cam are both at 12 o'clock and you will be TDC for #1.

I would get rid of the "fire starter" eddie air cleaner. Those are "bad"

    AMC engine swap?

That would be a perfect turbo 6 build. You may want to reconsider the swap. There are several members getting great performance from a /6 on this site.

    Somebody want to figure

This is what I got but, you didn't give your head gasket bore, I just used piston bore for it. STATIC COMPRESSION RATIO 8.416

What are all these holes for?

Also pay attention to your valve covers going back on. I had aftermarket that fit fine with a stock intake and had to be notched along the outside flange area because they hit on the new RPM airgap I installed. I'm sure it's different for every install but just wanted to let you know. Good Luck

Compression test only at 90 psi max, timing chain off?

I'm betting with numbers that low it's gotta be either timing or pushrod length. I wouldn't even worry about the spark and or distributor timing until you get the psi figured out.

No start, fresh rebuild, help anyone?

When you lined up the marks on your timing chain gears did you have the cam marks on the low side and the crank marks on top so they lined up? And if this is when you dropped your distributor in for TDC cylinder #1 . Then you are 180 out. you were TDC for cylinder 6. That is TDC for Chevy but...

will this run on pump gas ?

I ran into the same problem building my 360. I am using kb107's with 62cc heads. I just ordered custom cometec gaskets to match the compression I wanted. I can't remember the exact thickness, I think they are around .098. They are EXPENSIVE though. I think I paid around 180.00 for each one:(
