Yanked the heads, off my Magnum.Time to tweak a little.Stock compressed thickness,.040" factory replacement gasket.I know LA gaskets interchange.Who makes a decent thinner gasket?

I'm considering pulling my heads to check the cracks between the seats, would going to the thinner gaskets cause a sealing problem on an older engine?

My head guy recommends using the permatex spray on copper head gasket spray to help seal the steel gaskets.

Just curious, what's the effect on compression going from .040 to .025?

Anyone have an idea of what the resulting compression would be on a junkyard 5.9 with thinner head gaskets (.025)? I realize it will be higher but I'm looking for a numeric value assuming everything else is kept the same/stock.
