    Driving in the rain?

If he's worried about the water you better block off the huge hole in the front of the car behind the grill. Water gets sucked into the air cleaner regardless unless you run a labrinth of ducting with water traps. And with a fan behind the radiator slinging water like no ones business. It's...

    Basic door lock keying 101

Iv'e noticed on the early a bodies that the door cylinders cover appears to be staked into place. I'm guessing that I'd have to cut or chisel back to get the cover off and try to restake the cover. I have about a dozen door cylinders and some without keys I might just give it a try now. I...

    Can't open the doors!

Try from the outside pushing in on the door top and bottom at the back of the door while someone else pushes the release button. From sitting so long the seals and mechanism are probably just glued in place. I have dealt with this before to.

    Hanging lexan

The old way was to place the glass in the tracks and remove all the regulator parts, and fasten a seatbelt like strap to the bottom of the window so that when it is up the strap would be secured by a button type snap near the bottom of the door panel. And to lower the window you would pop the...

    air vent box 64 Valiant

There are two rods on the drivers side. And they require a 5/16 wrench or socket. Suggest spraying them inside the box before you start to loosen as they tend to rust and twist, in turn breaking part of the fiberglass box. I to am looking for the same side vent/door assembly.

    How to straighten hood?

It's worth a shot. If your not worried if it doesn't turn out. Just go real slow with the heat as to much over that big piece will warp the hell out of it.

    How to straighten hood?

You can put a wooden block on the fender lip towards the front and try pushing down on the center of the bend. Try this a little at a time, or even taking the hood off and supporting the opposite edge and both sides of the bend and doing the same on the ground where you can get leverage. And...

    Spot Weld Drill?

I'm using one from harbor freight. I paid $6 for it and it is identical to the one offered by Eastwood part #11279 at $19.99. Just use it in a standard or cordless drill. There are others out there that would last alot longer I'm sure. Plus it depends on how you use it to, as the reviews on...

I believe that 63-66 Dart, Valiant and Barracuda Windshields are the same but convertibles. Same for the Gasket. Last time I checked on an installed windshield with new glass and gasket was $600. $450 for the glass and $150 for the gasket.

1/4 panel fender lip rolling methods

Go to the local thrift shop and pick up a pair of baseball bat's with different sized barrels. Cut the small one in half to start the rolling process with the handle end. It works best when you let the car pull in the bat and you keep the handle perpendicular to the wheel. And you keep...

Where To Get Nuts? (and Bolts?)

I get my larger supply of nuts and bolts from an industrial/surplus supplier. They don't have to many auto only nuts/bolts but they do have a nice choice in their bulk stuff. It's by the pound and they have everything from black oxide allen head bolts to stainless button head allen. The black...

Broken screw. cant get it out.

Try a lefthanded drill bit first. Make it the same size as the shank of the screw minus the threads, or just a tiny bit smaller. Either the screw will back out while drilling it or you will have a pilot hole for a easy out.

    stick welding patch panels??

I have a Lincoln SP135. It's has a gas kit. Don't waste your time without a gas kit. You will wind up getting one if it doesn't. Especially for panel welding.

    stick welding patch panels??

Sounds scary to me. I would contact a welding supply house to see what is the smallest rod size available. Typically stick welding has alot of heat, which means bad for panels.

It's best to roll it in on 4 fugly tires and wheels, no trim of any kind. Glass removed all weatherstriping, basically every single piece that's bolted or glued on. Hit them up when they are having one of their half off sales but put in alot of extras. Door jambs, under hood, dash etc.. I...

    Fresh air intake plenum leaks

You can always lay under the dash with someone running a water hose into the cowl, and just make sure you wear a snorkel and goggles. This spot has a tendency to get pinholes real bad. My car had been outside since day one and across the US multiple times. The lip inside the cowl to keep the...
