rate this stuff for add some horses on a 318

you need to get a good valve job to complement a bigger carb. I have a holly 600 on my 65 cuda with 318. I had a 66 wich I raced with same combo but bigger 8 3/4 rear and 3.55 gears. That car ran low 14's and very consistent. My 65 only runs high 15's and 16.0 but has 7 1/4 rear and milder 318...

    Engine size recommendation

mine is eldelbrock performer intake holly 600 carb, close to 300 hp and gets 20+ mpg on highway. I have small rear end for now so Hp is limited by its ability not to blow up. My old 66 cuda had a close to 400 hp, but blew up rear at track in final round one evening several years ago. I replaced...

    Engine size recommendation

My 318 does just fine, a little 4bbl, pocket porting of the heads and a mild cam. Sounds good, runs good, decent on gas, and fun to punch the gas pedal! It is in a 65 barracuda formula s.

    Need Help! 273 V-8 resurrection

Take both those blocks and use for boat anchors! Get a new 318 motor and put black wrinkle valve covers on it. Paint block red like 273. You will get more Horsepower and have less problems than with old 273 w solid lifters. Unless this is a totally original resotoration (sounds like it is not)...

    Tempermental starting of my 318

cold starts once it runs for awhile it seems to start ok. If I put pedal to floot it just floods, so it seems? How do you make these adjustments? Personally I have never messed much with holly carb, had eldelbrock on last car.

    Tempermental starting of my 318

Newly rebuilt motor with holly carb and electronic ignition/orange box. The car is a 65 cuda formula s. Sometimes the car will not start it seems to flood out carb if I touch gas at all, other times it just cranks over and wont start if I do not touch gas. Other times it cranks and will start if...

    BJR racing

Goes to show stick with reputable shops and proven people who know what they are doing. I too have felt the sting of promises that are bullshit! Stick with the gut if its too good to be true then usually it is! That is what a website like this is about, measure twice cut once so to speak!

    300 + hp 318?

proper cam, good lifters and rocker arms, pocket port heads, electronic ignition, easy 300 plus hp. My 66 cuda ran mid 14's with this simple combo. Probably right around 300 hp..Forgot good 4bbl intake with holley 600 cfm. Dont overdo it with carb not needed unless more motor work done.

    good 318 combo

I had 318 in a 66 cuda, pocket ported heads, small cam, rebuilt top end, with 4bbl intake holley 600 cfm carb, and electronic ignition. Car was consistant mid 14's in quarter mile. Was a good bracket car, not super fast but consistant. Ran 15.0 before work. Probbly close to 300 hp after work...
