Well, here's my '69 Valiant (actually it's now my friends, but it was mine and I'm helping him with it). It's got a Demon front clip, with 340 hood scoops. We call it the Deviant. Still under construction.....unfortunately. It's waiting for some money so we can do the paint.

I've posted these photos before, sorry to those that have seen them. We (my buddy and I) put new front frame, floor pans, rockers and more into this '69 Valiant and it's not a valuable car, but had so much fun at night during a long winter and learned so much, I can't wait to do it all again...

There's a guy here with a '73 340 that he took from his Challenger. Apparently it runs, that's about all we know. It comes with a 904 tranny and he's asking $2200. I think it's too expensive, but just to give you confidence that $1000 sounds like a good price.

Does a Mopar small block (273, 318, 340) starter fit a slant 6? Does a /6 and SB use the same coil, starter solonoid, voltage regulator, ballast resistor etc? What parts can interchange?

I quite often leave the car unlocked. If a joy rider wants to take it, let them. Hopefully I'll get it back and in one piece instead of with a broken window or large hole drilled in the door. Usually parked on the street with the windows down tells a potential thief that the owner is close...

I'm sure there will be things you will find later on, but right now you need to get under with a flashlight and check the frame rails, floor pans, front frame where the torsion bars go in and the frame on the inside (toward the motor) of each front wheel, that's a notorious spot for dirt piling...
