Did you check to see if the Ballast resistor is ok? Does it shut off as soon as the ignition goes to run?

Maybe when you get the starter on it and come back you can tell us what car,engine carb...etc we are throwing rings at.

Remember the further back the muffler is the quieter it is.

Compression test should tell you everything you need to know.

In an performance aspect I doubt a spacer on a 2 bbl on a slant six is going to make much difference.

Just an update on my carb deal. I hate to admit but most of the problem was a piss poor job cleaning the passages and blowing it out with air. This time I pulled all the soft plugs in the body I could get out and cleaned and blew it out real good then eopxyed the plugs back in. The only other...

Did you connect the accelerator pump linkage in the proper hole ?

Nasty coughing noise ?? Tried a muffler shop?

Also look for cracks in the flex plate itself.
