It just needs a splice. For some reason the drivers side is all beat up on top. Looks like someone got PO'ed back in the day & beat the crap out of it with a hammer, then calmed down & broke out the bondo to cover up the dings...lol!! Im just going to cut out the top section around the shock...

Well I checked my 72' valliant parts car this evening & sure enough it has the plastic panels. & to top it all off they are in great shape. A trip to the carwash & a little paint & they will be like new!! Thanks for the help guys!

Thats a good deal on a brand new piece, if you ask me. I have seen originals with cracks & dings go for almost that much on e-bay. Why buy one that will need repaired before you can ever put it on your car when you can buy a brand new piece?

Its just the Krylon stuff. I think its called "fusion" or something like that. Got it a wal mart & it worked good. The prep part was the hard part because it had been painted before, so I had to strip it all off with mineral spirits.

Oh yeah, I have already found the evening gazette in my rear 1/4's. As well as steel wool. I now I have the roof flashing to complete the collection. But I knew from the get-go the 1/4's needed replaced. I will hand it to whoever did the rear 1/4's, you cant tell it untill you get under the car...

& the bad thing is this is the worst spot on the inner fenderwells. The rest of them are rust/dent free. I guess im going to just cut what I need off the valiant & replace the bad spots on the duster. Its going to be a blast!

For god sake dont have the rhino liner sprayed on it. It tends to fade with time. I have one in my truck bed that has now turned gray & it was jet black when new!

Oh, see mine has the flush style markers on it. I can see ditching them if they were the long DOT style lights, anyways I think you made the right call. Looks very clean! & the wheels you mentioned will pop with the blue/black stripe!
