    Swinger rarity...

I do not think it is a matter of Swingers being rare. I think it is more about the Dart Sport being more desirable. Do to this, many more swingers probably made it to the crusher. Just like Dusters being more common than Scamps. I do not know the actual mfr #'s but I would imagine the swinger...

    Misc. Parts

Hello all, i know this isn't the for sale section and I'm just trying to determine if it even makes sense to post these items for sale or just scrap them. I have an LA cast 2 barrel intake, not sure if there would be a demand for it or not. Additionally, I have front drum brakes from a 74 Duster...

    K-member and mount ??

Hello all, Do I have this posted in the wrong area? I was hoping that some folks that have used the mount kits to complete their swaps could chime in about the height of their engines.

    K-member and mount ??

Hello all, I have a 74 Duster /6 car that was already converted to V8 (318) via motor mount kit w/727 and 8.75 rear. The motor currently seems to sit a little high. Anyway, this winter I'm replacing the 318 with a fresh 340 and wondered if it would be worth swapping the k-member for a V8 member...

    coolant overflow bottle

trudyduster, Sorry, lost track of this. I'm not sure how soon I would be ready to give mine up yet. However, I did see one posted on e-bay yesterday for around $50+shipping. How soon are you looking to get one? v/r Ron

    coolant overflow bottle

trudyduster, They are not making them yet. I got a used one at Carlisle Nationals last year for my 74 Duster. People know they are not making them yet and tend to ask a fairly high price for them. I'm thinking about going with a different radiator and would not be able to use the bottle I have...

74 Passenger Car Parts Manual ??

Hello all, I got one of the 1974 Passenger Car parts Catalog(on CD) to help with my 1974 Plymouth Duster. For the most part it is pretty straight forward with the exception of the part number listing. When you look at the parts list by Group Code (i.e., 2-08-5) you see a breakdown for Drum or...

    Emissions

I saw the manual and thats what made start to wonder. About the only thing left is the "carbon can" that only has the line from the fuel tank and nothing going out. I'm in PA and I believe the 1974 an older cars are exempt from the emission checks and just trying to find out if this is the case...

    Emissions

Is there anybody out there from Central PA that might be able to shed some light on this matter. From my understanding my 1974 Duster, with regular registration, will not require the test or checks but any 1975 and newer cars do get checked.

    Emissions

I got a 74 Duster that does not have any emissions equipment and was wondering if they started putting everything on at the factory at a certain point in time or if it started being put on cars going to certain states earlier?
  15. Duster_71

    Emissions

So, what year did they start adding all the emissions equipment (i.e., EGR, Air Pump, etc.) to our MOPARS? Did they start with only certain states like CA or was it across the board? I always thought that it wasn't in full swing until 1975 but I'm starting to think that it was in 1973 or 1974.

Do you know anything about this car

Well, after months of looking and agonizing over dozens of cars I finally jumped on this one. Now the real fun begins! It is a driver and I'll be able to enjoy it for awhile before I start making any changes(i.e., maybe color change, interior work, etc.) I've asked questions about several...

How much did it cost you?

I appreciate everyone’s insight and participation in this thread. Unfortunately, for me, nobody has really revealed the specifics I was seeking. I’m not looking for overall cost to restore your cars. I was seeking the specifics as to what sheet metal (i.e., quarters, rockers, floors, trunks...

How much did it cost you?

I’ve been looking for a reasonable price Duster for awhile, something to tinker with. I’ve been scared off of a couple because of the needed body work and the perceived cost that accompanies it. Now, I know you can’t get into many reasonably priced 70-73 Dusters without them needing some kind of...

    Transport???

Hello All, I've been shopping around for a 1971 Duster, from PA, and found that most of the ones I would be interested in are way South or South West. Now if I pursue one of those I will need to figure out logistics and I was looking at Auto transport as an option. What companies have you guys...

1973 Duster 340 Clone, Whats it Worth

Understood, again, I'm not a purist and would be open to installing some type of after market lights as long as the wiring was still intact. Does anyone know of after market lights that would require minimal drilling and present a natural appearance?

1973 Duster 340 Clone, Whats it Worth

The fact that this could be a 71 340 seems to make it more desirable to me, should I add that into the equation? I feel bad that I made the error in judgment and told the guy that it was not a 71 motor. I called him and apologized for what might be a mistake.

1973 Duster 340 Clone, Whats it Worth

Wow, I want to thank everybody for their input so far and you all bring up very good points that have actually got me thinking very hard (losing sleep actually). I’m not a purist and I was drawn to this car because it had the 71 look I was shooting for and it is relatively close to my...

1973 Duster 340 Clone, Whats it Worth

It sounded like you thought they put alot of time an effort into some of the work (i.e. decal, wheels) but left out the side markers. Do you feel the side markers would be a problem, hense you would not buy the other work? (just trying to clarify) Do you share the same opinion as some of the...

1973 Duster 340 Clone, Whats it Worth

the 6th digit is a 3 and the VIN seq # matched the number on the rad support. I was worried about that too so I made sure to verify. What is funny is that this is the second 73 duster in as many weeks that I've seen with a 71 front clip and tail light panel.

1973 Duster 340 Clone, Whats it Worth

The trunk extensions looked solid with no visible signs of rot (no recent visual resurfacing) at the lower junction and the wheel wells look solid and intact.

I'm learning every day; always thought the last number represented the year of the cast, thanks. So, here is the cast # 2780930-340-3, can you help with that? (thanks)
