    71 demon, 3.91, 26" slicks, 11 to 1 stock stroke 360, home ported j heads, torker II intake, 750dp, 4,400 stall. Only time at strip 12.20, 1.66 60', 109 mph, carb was way to rich.

    Well it won't hurt to do the tops of the piston and chambers, you would want to start with very conservative timing like 8 to 12 to start short burst check plugs. If using a plate system you may have to get a pro to flow and size the jets as I think most flow/jet tables go to 350hp . Good luck.

    Looks nice!!!! When I took off my Holley strip dominator single plane with 750dp and replaced it with my home ported 6 pack with mechanical carbs (true CFM 1,100) I lost nothing and gained a bit of bottom end. So much for over carbed LOL...

    Yes about 25 hours worth, milled divider, & plenum wall work, plenum to runner transition worked, corners radius, gasket matched etc.. etc...

    Yep in stock form they are week, i put a lot of work into mine also, they also have core shift and the runners needed a bunch of work to "line up"

    I have tried the torker II and Holley SD on my 400hp 360, the torker II seemed more responsive on the street and they feel about equal up top, i have a 4,400 stall, i would think the air gap or ld340, i'm going to try a LD next season.

    Correct, i'm running 11.25cr with j heads, 93 works fine with 30 total, seemed to run the same with 110 leaded at 35 total. i have 205 cranking psi, if i'm going to race it then i'll add race gas and bump the timing. also a lot of other things go into your octane requirements like quench, stall...

    i would go with a more modern cam, the 509 has about 248 @.050 and would work good with your combo, but i think a Vodoo or comp with something in the 520/ 550 lift and duration around 242 to 248 @.050 would be the ticket. Stroked Sb like a lot of duration

    MSD won't make any HP, unless your ignition is very week or erratic. if your using the stock avs that might slow you down.

    i would go 950 hp also, i'm using a 750 hp with annulars and 4-corner and its good, but the 950 would be better.

    Not sure what you have done on your W2's but they should be able to get any sb into the 9's with the right combo and right v/j & porting. Maybe pull them off and get them checked out, or put some new hi flo ferras 2.05 intake valves and see..

    Most guys pick up only a .15 to .20 with a switch to a 904 with a stall that was equal to what they had in a 727. I would get a 9.5" dynamic converter that stalls around 4400rpm or an equivalent. the 727 is heavier and uses more power to turn but is also much stronger, the majority of fast...
