Changing a 74 Dart Swinger to look like a 71-72 Dart Swinger

Hmm. I guess I thought that the taillights went into the quarter panel. Makes sense though. That would definitely make things easier

Changing a 74 Dart Swinger to look like a 71-72 Dart Swinger

I would think that you would have to change the rear completely as well. Including the quarter panels. That would be a huge undertaking. I would think that you would be better off finding a 1973 Dart to swap over. The you would just have to switch the front clip. It would take a donor car with...

    74 Dart swinger Rust

Body work is a pretty satisfying thing, although I know guys that won't touch it. I'm still pretty young but I kinda just dived in, and learned as I went. It's a lot of sanding I'll tell you that

    74 Dart swinger Rust

Oh man.. that sail panel rust is killer. Might be better off with just a different car if you're not an experienced welder. AMD makes great parts, but you're going to pay. I've taken a risk and ordered some cheaper parts off of Ebay and haven't been let down yet.

    duster custom grille thoughts

Maybe if you found a way to keep the outside sections in their original position and then just doing as you would on the center section it wouldn't be so much work. I believe the grille is braced on the back.. could be wrong. But yeah you're looking at double the work it would take to do it the...

    duster custom grille thoughts

I don't see why not. Might take a lot of patience haha. But I believe if you just trimmed the parts of the grill that protrude outward you could just move the flat section back and then use something to bond them together. Would be neat to see!

    Plymouth Duster sheet metal

I believe that from 73 forward they should be the same. If you wanted to use the 70/71 you'd just have to change the grill and the hood. I prefer the non beak look the best, but I have to say the tail end looks good no matter the year. Hope this helps

    Really wanted tail stripe but

Should've tried out plastidip. Looks good tho

70 dart side trim holes -bondo ?

I'll get some hate for this I'm sure, but I chose to not weld them. I used an aircraft filler. I backed the hole and filled it in, sanded it down, and put a very thin coat of body filler over it. If you're good at welding and have all the means to, then I'd say go with that. I had neither, so...

    After Market Sheet Metal

NOS is out there, just gotta wait for it to pop up, and be prepared to pay. A lot. A lot of the guys here buy AMD sheetmetal. Again, pricey, but the quality is worth it to some.

    Fender Trim

Hey yall. Bought a set of fender extension trim off of Ebay about a month ago. I've been hitting it with polishing compound ever since, and its improved pretty well so far. My question is, can I ever get it back to a uniform shine without getting it rechromed? I've gotten a lot of the pitting...

    Hood Trim

Quick question. I want to add the hood trim to my 1970 Dodge Dart. Do I have to drill holes into the underside of the hood lip to add it? Thanks FABO, Cameron

    Filling in holes

Hey there FABO. My Swinger has holes for side trim, but no trim. I've been debating putting it back on. Not sure if I want to, but I'm trying to figure out how hard it would be to fill in all the holes. If anyone has done this and could chime in about it, I would appreciate it

    Imitating a vinyl top

Right now I don't have a lot of money, and have other things that take priority on my car. I like the look of a vinyl top. Could I use paint to imitate it? And could someone post pictures of it? Thanks FABO

    Looking for ideas

Hey FABO. Not sure if this is the right place to post. Just making a thread to try and find some ideas. My grandfather gave me a roll of carbon fiber style wrap, like the one used on hoods. I already planned on doing my dash, and a strip on my door panels. Where else could I use the wrap...

    Headlight Bezel

Hi there everyone, just a quick question. I took the headlight bezels off of my 1970 Dart. Stripped the long screw at the top. Had to drill it out. :banghead: How screwed am I? Am I going to have to buy a whole screw set for my grill? Or is there an equivalent I can get at like Lowe's or Home...

Dodge Demon Hood Stripes on a Dodge Dart?

I've seen it done both ways, but much prefer the flat black look. Definitely what I'm going with. Thanks!
