Same exact situation happened to my 69 Swinger 340 car, and it turned out to be a tear in the rubber diaphram in the booster. It was the same booster that you have pictured. I could not find a replacement anywhere, from anyone, so I had to have my original repaired. Good Luck bud! George

Buy a kit from eBay of bendable brake lines. They come straight with the ends already installed, and double flared, with copper plate like the originals. Sounds like the rubber diaphram inside is torn or otherwise leaking vacuum. Be careful driving it like that. George

The star adjuster should only turn in one direction as the self adjusting bar will prevent it from turning the opposite way. If you can turn it both ways with the brake spoon, something is amiss in there and should be checked out. George
