so it runs fine in idle? will it run fine when you give it gas in idle? as caferacerx said check and fix the vacuum leaks, the only one you really need is for the power brakes (if installed.) if all components are ok then it may be cold natured like mine and need to be warmed up really good...

they can look it up by your vehicle/carb... stay away from the plastic looking ones, use only the brass ones (they last longer)

thanks for the pics...now i know exactly where to put my springs :) i went with a comp cam 252° intake/exhaust 0.435" lift now to find someone to point a tell me how to proberly set up the bbd carb i put on it.

my slant doesnt have the tubes...('75) will it make a difference on mine?

also when you get the new manifold i would recommend getting the thick remflex gasket so you wont have to worry about much warpage.

is curb idle set correctly? timing in D and so forth?

ok so i tried to rig some of the old electric assist chokes to work with my 2bbl, and i bit the bullet and picked up the electric from carbs only as dan listed. my part# was a 1232 works great!! worth every penny. this is how the 2bbl hooks up...i didnt even have to change position of the hole...

well i got my pushrods form carquest and the motor mounts from napa. it probably just needs a valve adjustment to quiet down the engine, so my advice would be to just try the adjustment 1st then move on to other things...
