    Wife is pissed

The only time mine ever said anything was when I fired up the new engine in the garage and it rattled the pictures off the walls.

    V10 engines

I've had two Cummins trucks, a V10 and two Duramax trucks. I loved my V10, pulled my trailer just fine but it wasn't a 4wd otherwise I'd probably still have it. Getting a 30 ft enclosed trailer into my yard proved to be too much to ask of it. I loved my Cummins trucks also. I also really...

    Trailers are worthless

I love my enclosed trailer. It keeps my car cozy when not in use and it keeps me out of the sun when the car is out of it. Cabinets, work bench, generator, air compressor, it's all good. I've even slept in it a couple times. lol

How Bad Am I Screwed? :(

Worse yet epoxy the switch in? Jebus guys. You can get a heli-coil for any thread pitch and size. As far as the taps go they are close but not quite the same as standard taps. I've proven this to myself on several occasions. For instance a Heli-coil tap for a 5/16-18 thread bolt hole looks...

How Bad Am I Screwed? :(

Just drill and tap it for a heli-coil. Use Vasoline on the drill bit and the tap, that will catch most all of the shavings. What it doesn't catch is just aluminum so it won't hurt anything.

    4.7 engine swap?

If you put a colder stat in the computer will tend to run it richer, it thinks it's cold so although performance may be up just a tad fuel mileage will be down. Cylinder head temp is not just dependent on coolant temp. Think combustion chamber temperature. So not much help there.
  11. G

    4.7 engine swap?

They are prone to sludge because the factory runs the cylinder head temp higher for emissions. You see when they design an engine they need to make it for at least 10 years to recoup the cost of development. So they run the cylinder head temp up so it will be able to meet emissions at least 10...

    Discouraged

Dude, you live in Kentucky where silver duct tape around the windshield is acceptable chrome trim! lol Just pokin' fun man, if you can't laugh you got nothing. I'll admit I've had some nice cars in my time but I sacrificed a lot for them, ate ramen noodles for dinner every night for years. I'm...

    Anyone tired of this ???

I quit buying Mopar mags decades ago for anything other than to peruse the advertisements to see what is new out there.

Lighter valve springs = more horsepower?

I'm not as smart as David Reher is when it comes to this type of thing. There's no denying they make some serious horsepower no matter what brand it is.
  18. G

Lighter valve springs = more horsepower?

I say probably not. I read an article by David Reher in National Dragster once that addressed this very question and his answer was no, whatever increased resistance there is to opening the valve is negated by that same force in closing the valve.

Who has built there own car.

My friend and I built the whole car, the only thing we didn't do ourselves was the final body prep and paint. Lots of pics in this thread. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=16657

    Scamp out of paint prison

OK more pics. Had the car out with the tunnel ram, I think it's lean because it was faster with the air filters on than with the scoop so some tuning is in order. Otherwise it's only maybe a tenth faster in the 1/8.

    Odd Comment in Mopar Action..

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The use of green bearings was originally to install a spool as the spool has no floating block in it so the axle end play could be adjusted. It really was that simple, so the original intended purpose of the green bearings was for drag use. Do some...
