Epoxy or Urethane High Build... what's next for me?

Nice. Also a fan of SPI epoxy.

Impressive. With 2k clear likely tougher than a wrap.

    Chrome Wrap

I would think A body bumpers should be easier than the modern molded ones but a practice run or two would likely be good!

63 Dart bezels and 3D printing?

Would it be feasible to print something as large as a trunk trim panel? I'm not sure if I can get mine straight enough.

Satin/flat/rat rod black paint jobs. Let's see 'em!

Sure can't beat the price. Do you you if it has uv inhibitor? If it's garage kept might not be an issue I guess.

Satin/flat/rat rod black paint jobs. Let's see 'em!

A suggestion - tell us what paint is used. SPI makes a nice deep flat black epoxy primer with UV inhibitor for potential use as a topcoat. I imagine Hot Rod Flatz makes black. Ordinary primer won't handle much sun.

They Said It Can't Be Done...Or Don't Even Try

I agree with the stated concern, however, keep in mind it will be a lot stronger than a convertible. Given what you've done frame connectors and torque boxes are a minor project. There's lots of frame connector threads on this site. I can post a torque box pic if you like.

They Said It Can't Be Done...Or Don't Even Try

There is satisfaction to be had in doing the work. I did a complete front half replacement (frame, front crossmember, inner fenders etc). In my case the cost was minimal, mainly time. Then my wife made it known she would really rather have a Dart than a Duster so I completed the structure...

    Clear coat....

That's interesting. I've thought of creating a flat finish that way but was shot down when I suggested the possibility. Do you have a thread? I'd like to do a flat paint job on my Dart. Here's a few factoids I came across. Flat paint is made by adding talc (talcum powder) to what would...

Really nice. Wonder how hard it is to spray a pearl.

    color sanding single stage

The reason is metalic paint has little relective particles. The effect is created by the particles that lay on the surface of the paint. If you sand, the effect is gone or greatly diminished. Does not look good.

Thanks. I can't see what's painted black on post 24. I'll try the google image search. I kinda like it without much black.

What can I seal oil based paint with?

I'm not a paint expert by any stretch. I like SPI epoxy. I like reading about paint tech. I mean no disrespect but I have a hard time making sense of that explanation. Might just be my ignorance.

73 fenders on a 70-72 are a no go. The sheetmetal is different from the windshield forward.

    OK; Rust-proofing/Undercoating?

This came up on another thread, might be of interest at this stage. It's about the most rust prone area of these cars. The OP mentioned how a fresh paint job can fail in the area where the trunk extension meets the rear quarter. It's very difficult to see if you have corrosion about to break...

    Body Caulk?

I'm not making a definite recommendation, but I've been thinking when I do mine of using polyurethane caulking from a box store. Polyurethane is very tough stuff. I kinda think you pay a premium for automotive seam sealer and get inferior performance. (Someone else may correct me -feel free)...

It is pretty cool. They look about flush. Seems to me they would need to be moved downward to achieve that. Not sure though.
