1966 Dodge and the D-Dart 'Mistake'

I heard that he had passed but I just searched for an obituary and only found this: http://www.theoaklandpress.com/articles/2010/06/29/obituaries/1601938.txt And this doesn't remind me of the man I met, so hopefully he is still with us :)

1966 Dodge and the D-Dart 'Mistake'

69, Ralph ran several cars under the 'POLITICIAN' name, the last one being a 1956 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery. Which he had until he died a few years ago. He cherished that Indy win more than anything. He had that trophy in his hair studio for all to see. RIP to both he and Teddy, I know that...

1966 Dodge and the D-Dart 'Mistake'

Thanks 69! I was just thinking of Ralph the other day, I have a pic of him and I together crusin' down Woodward side by side. I miss him dearly! He actually introduced me to Teddy at a car show we went to, just listening to the two of them talk about the "Old Days" had me riveted to say the...

1966 Dodge and the D-Dart 'Mistake'

OMG, I haven't seen that pic in years!!! A very good friend of mine (Ralph Costa) drove that car for Teddy. They raced several cars under "The Politician" name, even won Indy. Sadly he passed away several years ago :sad8:

    New owner of GTS #359

Chasduster, I told Curt that this car was pretty special to me and he seems to share the same passion for the car that I do so that made it easier (not easy but easier). I've been blessed to have had MORE than my fair share of grat cars over the years (last count was 72) and there will be...

    New owner of GTS #359

Curt, Thanks for the kind words, but what you forgot to mention was that it takes great people on BOTH ends of the sale for this to work out like it did. First the car has to be represented as it is and secondly it has to be priced reasonably. And on the other end the buyer must have realistic...

    Production #'s ?

Just by your list of options, I'm sure it's quite rare, But unfortunately rare does not always equal valuable. If you are asking this to determine if a car is rare enough to restore, with today's market my answer would be to only put as much money as you are COMFORTABLE to and be happy with it...

    What B-body is your favorite?

I have seen this car in person and it's absolutely stunning! It was actually the car used to design the Johnny Lighting car and he has all the documentation! I worked out a deal with him to trade my 70 Challenger R/T SE for a 69 Dart GTS and some cash. Seemed like a really good guy and the deal...

    A-Body Production Numbers

Dave is a GREAT stand up kind of guy. He has personally dismantled hundreds of Mopars and has written several (five I believe) restoration manuals. I'm sure Galen has his reasons for his lengthy turn around times and he definately has helped our hobby immensely. I'm just letting others know that...

    A-Body Production Numbers

Sorry but I have to disagree. Having owned several E-bodies I have found Galen to be very uncaring lately and his services take forever! With that being said, I have found someone who knows as much if not more than Galen and has a wonderful personality and is 100 times more detail oriented...

    Flip Gas Cap Conversion?

I don't have one yet, but when I decide which one will fit best I will be getting a original piece. That was the whole purpose of this post, to see which one would work the best. I was really hoping someone had done it to a 67-69 and save me the trouble of trial and error.

    Flip Gas Cap Conversion?

Hello All, I'm new to the A-body scene (just sold my 1970 R/T SE Challenger) and was wondering if anybody has tried to put a flip gas cap from an E-body or other Mopar onto an A-body. I think it would look pretty cool! Thanks for your input, Alan
