This is the picture from the day he brought Zeus home. I'm sure they are together again.

    BadSport AKA Bruce Chandler

He had a love of Belgian Malinois and I love my Dutch Shepherds. I had picked up my newest pup last year and blamed Bruce. I called the pup "Bruce" when we brought him home and he answered to it, so it became his official nickname.

Many good conversations about dogs of all things. I'll miss him for sure. God speed my friend.

Yeah, the head shake. We were all surprised by that and that was when we KNEW he was ours. Having had GSD's almost all of our lives, I would recommend glucosamine or one of the derivatives (I think we use something like Cosequin.)

Yeah, our GSD has about 45 pounds on the new kid. He's fast and probably a bit smarter, (but don't tell her I said that), the girl is remarkably nimble for her size and can out spin the King. We just have to make sure they don't get too zealous in their play. I don't really need the vet bills...

    I think they'll be OK. :D

Oh, he'll get spoiled for sure. I had my Roo for fourteen years and was completely devastated when she stroked out and I had to put her down. King is turning out to be quite a clown, too. The folks we got him from did some excellent training, so we just have to build on it. We were worried that...

Well, been a few days. Got a few irons in the fire, but had to drop in and share a new addition to the family. My beloved Dutch Shepherd of 14 years had passed at the beginning of the scamdemic in 2020. We just didn't (or at least I) have it in us to adopt another dog until a few weeks ago we...

What are y'all using for gun cleaners and/or lube? I've been using Hornady One Shot for a while now with good results.

Oh, and Deb and I both swear we see Zombie Cat every once and a while.

I'm kind of an old school CLP guy. I've been playing with red moly grease on the slide parts of the BCG and sear/trigger. I'm also a big fan of Ballistol, but have been running Hornaday One Shot on my cowboy guns for about a year now and it seems to be holding up well. But yeah, my 1911s, my...

Sorry to hear about Zeus, I remember when ya got him and what he meant to you. I can't say to when another should join the family. In my case, Deb will show me Dutches on the net and I think she would in a heartbeat, but I really need to make things right with Kayda first. (More like make things...

The Roo was mostly Dutch Shepherd. Think of Dutches as Maligators without an off switch. We've mostly had GSDs (or German Shedders as we like to call them.) Dutch Shepherds are on an energy level all their own and if they get bored, you will KNOW about it. I was/am completely enamored by The...

I would totally be up for that. I have fired a few of the Wilson Combat offerings and they (Nighthawks) are on another plane, for sure. Although I still lust a Supergrade in Baron Blue.... Oh, and a full size 1911 in 9mm? It is such stupid fun to shoot. And now, the obligatory Zombie Cat pick....

Both of your posts lead to the fact that nothing replaces practice. Firearms proficiency is a perishable skill. Dryfire practice at home is invaluable if done right. It can also reinforce bad habits if done wrong. (Don't ask me how I know, I'm still working at untraining a few quirks.) Live fire...

Honestly, I don't have any experience with one. My better half bought a CZ75 compact that she loves and will allow me to clean. I really like it and it makes me look like I know what I'm doing when I shoot it.

It's seriously like picking up 3 new hobbies at one time. The game, reloading and gunsmithing. I look at the gunsmith part as a natural extension of hotrodding. And Howdy Pard!
