Last year at drag week I drove the 71 Dart 1,000 miles over 5 days. Also made five 1/4 mile passes. Made me very nervous but the car didn't skip a beat. We'll see how she does this year.

My good friend has one and loves it. Has owned it about a year. He gets 28 MPG gallon empty. No issues yet.

My wife had a 1997 XJ for years. She absolutely loved it and the 4.0 never missed a beat up to 170,000 miles when we sold it. Will say though that we had several issues with AX15 5 speed transmission though. Got stuck in gear a few times and when we sold it overdrive was out.

I like them both but own a 71 Dart. It takes more work to get big tires under the back of the Dart but IMO the Darts look amazing with some big rubber tucked under them. As far as head room is concerned, I'm 6'2 and fit in my Dart just fine. Stock bench seat.
