    Rattle can primer?

if you plan on putting good primer on later spray the bare metal with gibbs oil. It'll last a long time (you can always retreat) and it comes right off with paint thinner when you're ready to paint.

My brother screwed up this time

Well, I smacked my 'Cuda into a concrete wall and I'm in the process of restoring it. Granted, it needed to be restored and the front end work (new clip and all) didn't add much to the scheme of things. Just more headaches.

    why is my welding inconsistent?

Frankly, being a rank ameture at MIG welding I'm pretty happy with just being able to connect two pieces of metal together, no matter the technique....lol.

    why is my welding inconsistent?

well I had much more success today. I actually sped up the wire feed to about 8 (I had it at about 4) and starting cutting the wire before each weld. Thanks for everyones advice. I know I can always count on it!!!!

    why is my welding inconsistent?

oh, push the weld....never thought of that. All I've ever done is stick welding. Also, I've just realized that what I was practicing on was pristine metal, not old crusty stuff. I guess I just need to realize that this is just part of the 'fun' of restoring a car....lol.

    why is my welding inconsistent?

uuhhhh....how'd you get a picture of my welder???????? mig....although as frustrated as I'm getting I'm considering going the JB weld route.....lol...JK. It's not that big of a deal, I am able to fill in the holes, it's just frustrating.

    why is my welding inconsistent?

I started welding in a trunk pan and half of my welds look really good and the other half burn holes right through the sheet metal.....what up with that????:banghead: No, I'm not concerned about settings and all that. I say that because I use the same 'technique' as far as I can tell, but...

    Flap Disc

use the flap discs to sand down your welds. Be carefull, don't use a lot of pressure and keep the wheel moving up and down the weld so you don't heat the metal too much. Good luck

    grille repair

oh, also...I hate to be too technical but does anyone know the 'exact' color and/or a close proximity to the color of the surrounds and the grates. I, of course, have these parts but the are old and faded. It's not a big deal to me to know the exact color, but if anyone else has repaired 69...

    69 cuda rear valance

The valence just goes straight down. It doesn't wrap around anything. I just removed mine last week. At the top, outside section it does fit up underneath the brake light support/surround. I guess you could call this part of the quarter put it's really a seperate piece. You shouldn't have...

How do you remove Duster windshield trim?

I don't know how your's is held on but on the cuda there are spring clips that are attached to the frame and run up underneath the trim into the trim recess. The trick is to run the tool under the trim and 'pry' the clips out from the trim. I put 'pry' in quotes because it can be a delicate...

    Making the duster rollable

    Making the duster rollable

as 1970duster said, you can buy caster systems, or you can build them yourself. A couple months agao Mopar Magazine had an article about caster systems. good luck and from what I've seen it's not hard. Even a novice can do it.

    Body Work Tutorial

I too have ZERO experience at body work. Check out my resto thread. We just said f%^& it and dove in. Granted, we haven't welded anything in yet, but that should be happening within the next few weeks. We took the old sheet metal and used it to brush up on our welding skills. It's scarey but...

    how bad is bad ?

If you decide to keep the car I can't wait to see the progress. My dad and I are rebuilding a 69 FB also and, like you, we've never restored a car before. It'll be interesting to say the least. I can't wait to weld in my first patch, screw it up and have to buy a new skin.....lol. Good luck and...
