Does anyone have an exploded diagram of a power steering gearbox for a 73+ a body?

    power stearing line vs K-frame

Have you: 1) Changed K frames? 2) Changed engines? 3) Changed/added the power steering pump or gearbox? I found out that some of the power steering pressure lines are made to fit a certain combination of motors/kframes/pumps/etc... and if you change one or more of those, the line may not fit...

    steering shaft bearing replacement

3748229 is the part # that was on the bearing sleeve. When I recieved the new part it was just the bearing. Didn't look identical to what came out but it works fine so far.

    steering shaft bearing replacement

I had to replace the bearing on my steering shaft earlier this summer when I rebuilt my steering column and it was that type. Took it everywhere and nobody said they had anything like it. I did a little more research and found I could order one off of a mid 80s full size van, like a b100...

    Leaf spring leaves not centered

So yeah I'd guess youre right and that is my problem... Now lets talk solution. Obviously I need to move in the perches, but what do to about the leaves sticking out? I tried giving it a few taps but it looks pretty secure and not moving. Can I disassemble the springs without doing any...

    Leaf spring leaves not centered

    Yeah looks like its 44"

    Leaf spring leaves not centered

Well it was kinda hard to measure with the rear installed but it looked to be about ~44" Seeing as how I'm probably going to have to do a little work back there I might take it out and get a better measurement

    Leaf spring leaves not centered

Do you mean like center of the springs stick out a bit farther than the ends as if they were stretched to fit? Not really...the pictured spring is a little hard to tell because of that leaf thats sticking out. The other side looks okay. The car came with the rear end and springs in stalled...

    Leaf spring leaves not centered

Would it matter if I had the rear end supported or just hanging when I did that? On both sides, the springs have 1 clamp in the front and one in the rear

    Leaf spring leaves not centered

I believe its a bbody rear end out of a 68 coronet. Also, the springs are 1" over stock if that matters

    Leaf spring leaves not centered

Good eye, I didn't even notice that.

    Leaf spring leaves not centered

While I had my rear end jacked up and off the ground so I could try and find out if my axles are bent, I noticed that one of the leaves on my p/s leaf spring was not centered with the rest of them. I checked the other side and they weren't exactly straight, but not as severe as the other...

power steering pump bracket info (engine conversion)

Problem is that the pressure hose was designed to fit a saginaw pump to a V8 kframe. Since the /6 kframe is a little bit different the bends in the hose are not correct and interfere. When I ran into that problem I just notched the Kframe. Wasn't pretty but it worked. You said you tried a...

    pitman arm question

When installing a 73+ pitman arm on a 73+ power steering box, how far up the splines should the arm go? There is about ~1/4" of splines still showing between the top of the pitman arm and the steering box when the pitman arm nut gets tight. I'm just wondering if that is normal to have that...

Anybody happen to know the size of the pins that go in the front of the strut rods? I seemed to have misplaced the ones that came off of my ride! Thanks

    Can you identify these brackets?

Hmmm interesting...I looked around for some pictures of p/s setups on dodge trucks but only could find standard big block and small block brackets...google hasn't turned up anything and neither has ebay. I scraped all the crud off of them but did not see any #s or any other ID marks. I'll...

    Can you identify these brackets?

I have these brackets that came installed on a Saginaw power steering pump that I bought and I was curious if anybody knew what kind of application they are for? Obviously for a Saginaw pump but are they big block or small block? Specific to certain years? I haven't been able to find any...

Can somebody confirm this? steering linkage orientation

thanks I got it now. Didn't realize I was using the earlier idler arm with the 73+ linkage and nothing was lining up with each other!

Can somebody confirm this? steering linkage orientation

72 Dodge Demon Took apart my steering linkage to get it painted and powdercoated and I can't exactly remember the orientation. I was originally using the /6 k member that came with the car and a 73+ steering linkage and gear box. I swapped it out with a 68-72 k member from a 69 dart. I can...

    Strut Rod Bushing Q

I need to order some strut rod bushings for the front suspension in my car (72 Demon). I had removed everything and had it powdercoated, but I can't remember if there are bushings or anything that go into where the strut rod meets the LCA or not. I know bushings go in the K frame for the...

    ID this steering linkage please

Just to clarify...to measure the diameter of the sector shaft, you measure above the splines for the pitman arm correct?

    ID this steering linkage please

After doing some research it seems you are right. I was under the impression that the steering linkage I have was original to the car (72) as the K frame is original (biscuit mount not spool). But heres the thing... 73+ p/s gear boxes should have the large sector shaft correct? Well it...

    Coupler length

The reason I ask is because I have two couplers; One that came off a 72 Dodge Demon P/S column shifter and one that came off an unknown 73 A body floor shifter P/S. The couplers are two different lengths and I have mixed them up. One is 3 9/16" and the other is about 3 1/8" long. Just...

    ID this steering linkage please

Got this steering linkage with a v8 k frame. It came off a 67-68-69 Dart I'm pretty sure. The pitman arm and idler arm are longer than on my 72 Demon (power steering). The centerlink is also slightly different. The mounting holes for the tie rods are rotated 90* from the pitman/idler...
