    I raced one In 1970 with my 65 Formula S 4spd and beat it.It was a powerglide 327 motor but not shure about the year. that powerglide would be a killer for that cars performance.I had 3,91s, top end if you had enough room He would ketch me.

    The LBP. Backing plates have a deeper offset to accommodate wider brake shoes so you need drums to match. Now you have better brakes.

    if you want to change over you have to swap out every thing past the axle housing, backing plate drums brake parts. B Body stuff works ;I think 8.25 stuff fits also.New Axels are readily available.I bought axles from mancini racing.

    i had a 65 formula s 4 speed 3.91s weighd 3,125 ran consistant 14.7s in the late 1960s. was J amature clase record holder 14,81 at my track for a year with the stock 3.23s. blew that rear end. lots of fun

    the modern 4 cylinder cars are hard to beat on gas mileage . i drive 20000 miles a year and they pay for themselves in gas saveings. i keep a fullsize van spare for a workhorse. your the one driveing it so you should pick the one you want to drive

    inexpensive welder?

    i recommend if you can afford it get one that has or is adaptable to gas shield for you can run smaller wire than a flux core. then you can weld thinner metal such as body metal. you buy cheap you get cheap.
