So you know it's time for a Brake Job when.......

Had the radio stopped working they would have brought the car in to get fixed ASAP. Some people will literally drive a car till the wheels fall off but if the radio or A/C stops working the car becomes "un-drivable"

Is 240psi cylinder pressure too much?

It's not marketed for the US, it's basically a small mini van/wagon built on the Cruze platform.

    International Trucks. Who's got um

The problem with just buying an engine will be all the other stuff needed to do the swap. It would probably be cheaper and easier in the long run to buy a whole truck and just swap cabs. Something like an old school bus or an old U haul truck would fit the bill, you'll get more modern brakes and...

    International Trucks. Who's got um

If you're going to keep it as a big truck put a DT360 or a 12v Cummins in it. Gas engine suck it big trucks.

Ship Carrying New Nissans on Fire in Pacific

I just changed a cvt transmission on a '15 Rogue last week, was making a noise like a ring a pinion not set up right. Only had about 65K miles on it. Good thing the customer had a warranty on it because it was quite spendy.

Why did the exhaust pipe on the Ford Y-block V8 cross over in front of the engine?

Ford put that pipe there to give you something to burn yourself on. Auto manufacturers have been punishing mechanics from day one.

    Flathead Motors

Ford's "lower-friction" V8 engine wasn't a result of the over head valve architecture, it came from the discontinued use of the double oil rings on the pistons, less rings riding up and down on the cylinder walls made for less drag.

    Today's nasty car!

Oh, that's a good one, let me guess it was probably sitting out on the lot with the windows up baking in the sun for a few hours before it got test driven.

    Engine swap (non mopar)

Replace the timing belt and water pump while the engine is out, it's a lot easier to do out of the car. Also the motor mount bolts on the top-passenger side tend to break, they are about 6" long and tend to snap off in the bracket. The engine should come out from the topside once you pull the...

where was this when i bought my bronco last year?

Hmmm... oil pump seized while plowing, um... ok. How about oil pan was rotten, leaked out all but a half quart of oil, said f*ck it I'm plowing with it anyway, then ran it until the engine started knocking. Now it's for sale. Looks like a clapped out rot box with a wiped out engine. The only...

Using an oil change place? Beware

The problem with "American" cars is they've all adopted the European way of putting symbols on fluid caps instead of having them say what kind of fluid goes where. And the 300 plus page owners manual usually isn't much help either because you have to weed through all the "cover your ***" lawyer...

Owning and driving old cop cars...:)

I've driven a late 2000's P71 Crown Vic, performance was kinda blah. The interior was kinda cool though, it had bucket seats up front with no center console and a rubber floor mat. Even though the cops around here don't use them anymore people slow down when you get behind them in one.

    Most Unique Truck At SEMA

It's cool that they put a big giant intercooler on a truck that isn't ever going to haul a damn thing. I guess it was just an excuse to create some intricate looking plumbing to add to the "WOW" factor.

Top 6 Terrible Cars From SEMA 2017

The Javelin isn't bad looking at all, I don't know how that even made the list. The Bmw looks like some 19 year old kid went on a shopping spree with grandma's credit card. The Santa fe is not bad looking except for the "paint" scheme. The Vette looks like a life sized hot wheels car, it...

Ever wonder how those NASCAR guys can get the lug nuts on so quick?

I get the special socket gimmick but I don't get the lug nut glued to the wheel gimmick, as soon as the first lug is spun on it should spit the other 4 lugs off the wheel if they are just glued to the wheel. There has to be more to it.

any boat engine mechanics on board?

Hopefully it's just a riser gasket, but it could be a split exhaust hose or the riser could be cracked. I believe there is a heat exchanger with water hoses going to and from back there if you have power steering.

    Uggggg

The sad part about step 11 is that you only have to drop the rear subframe just to get at the quick connects on the fuel lines, the gas tank is up inside the trunk of the car behind the back seat.
