Putting together a fact sheet for my '65 Formula S and need to add the original cost of the factory A/C option. Anyone know? Thank you!

Is Your Water Pump Overdrive, Underdrive, or Neither?

I have a good fabricator, I'll put him on the shroud project. The old factory ones don't impress me (although they are metal).

Is Your Water Pump Overdrive, Underdrive, or Neither?

Standard rated amp, Mopar six blade fan, no a/c, no shroud (yet).

Is Your Water Pump Overdrive, Underdrive, or Neither?

I notice my coolant temperature creeps up at stop lights. The pulleys are not factory (since the previous owner removed A/C). Now I'm wondering if messing around with pulley diameters (crank vs. water pump mainly) may be a factor at the stop lights. The radiator was recored by a reputable shop...

Anything I need to know beforehand removing A/C box in 65 Barracuda?

Is there a source for new A/C box control cables? Looks like only one manual cable, the rest must work from the vacuum diaphragms.

Early A '65 22" Radiator Shroud Bracket Question

Is this fabricated shroud shown in the first two photos made of some kind of aluminum? I would like to have someone fabricate a similar one for me. I just wonder what material was used?

    '65 A/C Heater Box Question

The rod that secures the passenger side vent on this A/C Heater box has the hook bent at a different angle than what I am used to seeing. Usually the rod upper hook is bent 90 degrees (at least in my non a/c '65) so I was wondering if this 45 degree angle bend for the a/c box is correct or...

Early A '65 22" Radiator Shroud Bracket Question

I don't know if the driver's side of the shroud was attached in the same manner as the passenger side so let me ask here and find out. My Formula S radiator (had factory A/C-now missing parts) has two brackets on the passenger side for the shroud. I wonder if it is missing the same style two...

Early Vent Door Hinge Repairs (and Kryptonite rivets)

Haven't found a circa ABody yet with intact door hinges on the vent/heater boxes. Not sure yet how to repair the hinges, but I have an idea in mind. First off, decided to remove the door. Those are definitely not aluminum rivets, had to fight tooth and nail with various drill bits and Dremel...

Is the top portion in the first photo a little bent/tweaked or is that the factory shape?

What's a '65 ABody Factory Radiator Shroud Look Like?

The '65 Formula S still missing some of the factory A/C stuff. May need to fabricate a shroud. What does one look like, where does it attach, is it one piece or two piece, what material is it made of, original part number? Or is there a detailed thread on FABO I can reference? Thank you.

    It's a Keeper

Found this thermostat housing having been installed on my '65 Formula S with '66 four barrel intake manifold and 1980 318 cylinder block. "Made in Canada" means it's going right back on the engine (P/N 3698565). Appears to be an aluminum casting the factory installed in the 1970's.

How to stop hot air from engine compartment?

I think maybe in this case some good old-fashioned pipe dope may be the ticket, being the fact the valve will be opened/closed from time to time.

Comparing 16 PSI Radiator Cap to Carbonated Soda Can Pressures

I always imagined our coolant systems always being on the verge of blowing sky high when using the standard 16 PSI radiator cap. After researching soda can pressures, I guess 16 PSI is no big deal. It's just that boiling coolant/water likes to shoot out like a geyser 100 kilopascals is about...

    Thermostat housing casting number?

What is the Correct A/C Vacuum Hose Size ('65)

According to my metric dial calipers, the nipple on the new replacement A/C control switch is 3.35mm or 0.131889". I found a "blue" hose 3.5mm = 0.1375" (9/64" = 0.140") hose on ebay I wonder if that's it? But then again, 1/8" would be a tighter fit. 4mm hose = 0.157" 5/32 hose = 0.15625"...

What is the Correct A/C Vacuum Hose Size ('65)

Sometimes the auto parts clerks try to sell me what they have on hand, rather than the correct size hose. So I thought I would ask beforehand what size vacuum hose is used from the A/C dash control on a '65 A Body with factory air that connects to those three vacuum operated doors in the A/C...

Does one use the factory A/C box when restoring a '65 Barracuda A/C ?

I do have the original horizontal dryer, which is a start. I was just reading online last week about someone who "rebuilds" the older receiver/dryer, but can not remember now who that was. The five buttom dash control needs some work, the little vacuum hose connection nipples turned to dust...

Does one use the factory A/C box when restoring a '65 Barracuda A/C ?

This '65 Formula S was equipped with factory A/ C but missing most underhood parts. I was wondering how one goes about restoring the A/C in a case like this? Throw everything out and start over with a complete aftermarket system or use the Mopar A/C box and adapt it to the aftermarket parts...

Anything I need to know beforehand removing A/C box in 65 Barracuda?

Success! At first, did not notice the allen head screw holding the knob for the heat control cable. Pulled pretty darn hard but would not budge. Lucky I did not break it. When I carefully pulled the vacuum hose connection/two clips off (7 hoses total) most of the plastic "male" nipples turned...
