    Amd vs. Goodmark

I am AMD dealer and have been selling AMD parts for over 3 years and had only one customer complain about him having fitting issues with AMD Challenger quarters I sold him, yet I have sold countless dozens of these with no complaints.

    Amd vs. Goodmark

AMD and Goodmark are two different companies. Please post facts instead of some rumors. The dead giveaway is the metal thickness, AMD panels are noticeably thicker and have more pronounced lines I'm not even talking about fitment.

    Mixing Mud for Skim Coat

why not use a glazing putty like Icing,Half-Time,Dolphin,Metal-Glaze,e.t.c. there are dozens of them, none will have sticky surface if mixed properly and they are made just for that, to skim over pinholes and scratches, I would not take a chance of mixing not enough hardener or adding some...

    Candy apple paint

if the basecoat does not require hardener or to be mixed with clearcoat, it will be dry and ready for candy coat within 15-20 minutes, as for the actual candy coat, some are done with regular binder and should be sprayed like regular basecoat, some have to be mixed with clearcoat, which brand is...

    Seam Sealer

I would never put seam sealer over bare metal, you may end up with rust , I always apply it over primed surface. OP, 3M makes a very nice seam sealer 08300 Ultra-Pro , easy to work with ,stays flexible.Whatever you do, stay away from Fast n Firm by 3M, it's junk, will crack within a year.

    Lesonal paint by Sikkens

As far as I know Lesonal was introduced by Sikkens less than 10 years ago. Every paint brand has their cheap version, most of them are watered down ,can't speak for Lesonal,

    Auto Paint Help

the most important part of smooth finish is your bodywork, which has to be blocksanded prior to application of high-build primer surfacer, then blocked again before applying color, most modern basecoats do not build up thickness, and require no sanding, but I usually do a quick knock down of any...

    Auto Paint Help

That would be a regular basecoat with matte clearcoat, most paint brands have their own version, you spray it just like regular base/clear, and within 30-40 minutes when clear dries it turns to flat, which can also be adjusted with some paint brands, there is also additive available to add in...

    Auto Paint Help

I'm sure 3 years later you found the answer, but I'll throw my .02 cents. I would never put alot of faith in DuPont scanner/camera. It's a hit or miss, about 6 out of 10 and when the coolr does match, most of the time the metallics are way to coarse when you look up close. That's why it's...

    sandblast the whole car???

I hope you guys know, that after sodablasting the metal must be neutralized ,otherwise you will have all you primer, filler and paint coming off in sheets, you can not just wipe with prep solvent and shoot primer

    sandblast the whole car???

Sounds like way too much hassle for a backwards job, find another shop who will strip the whole car and do it all at once, no paint lines,no oversparay and a much cleaner job, if they can't put a car back together without scratches and chips, they shouldn't be working in a body shop, but that's...

I recently finished install of USCartool connectors on 69 Dart along with leaf sping relocation and mini-tubs and would not use any other type of connectors, they fit very well with minor trimming and once installed look like they were there from the factory, they are nice and thick. OP, if...

Exposed body filler on new paint?

if you don't want to make a mess on new paint, try using Q-tip and if there is access from the back, I'd go that route, it's best if you mix hardener in paint if it's single stage, if it's base/clear, use clearcoat with some hardener, it will seal off exposed filler Stefan

    Metal Bonding Questions

That will be one interesting looking hood when done. I'd advise using Marine-Tex to graft hood skins, the metal bonding adhesive will show the seam in the paint after a while,it won't crack, or anything, the reason the seam shows is because metal expands and contracts different from the...

    Metal Bonding Questions

Any of the 3 should work just fine, out of the three I like SEM and 3M,I just didn't like the glass beads in Fuzor, As for welding, I'd only do spots welds on corners ,that's all, just make sure there is no adhesive atleast 1 inch away from where you plan welding Stefan

    PPG Delstar, anyone used it?

it's OK paint, I know I wouldn't use it on my car, but it will work just fine, if it's metallic and you have never sprayed single stage metallic enamel, try to do couple of test panels to get used to it , Sharpe makes good filters, I have 4 of model 606 filters at the shop for years,I think I...
