    Maybe a dumb question

Not dumb but a little confusing. If you are doing a disc brake swap and all you are installing are the '73 upper control arms, upper ball joints, spindles, brakes, and lower ball joints, the '70 lower control arms and outer tie rod ends will bolt right up. Did this swap on a '66 Valiant and...

    Need advice help.

Short version. You can use the steering components you have now if you swap the complete package, steering box, Pitman arm, center link, idler arm, tie rods, onto your '73 K member. You will also need '73 up lower ball joints for disc brake cars. You do not need new upper control arms if you get...

    Pitman Arm Compatibility

If he had the older linkage power/manual steering wouldn't be an issue since they both used the same Pitman arm. If you would read and understand the posts you would know that the original poster was referencing '74 manual steering as was I. Sorry to offend your carefully crafted world view, but...

    Pitman Arm Compatibility

Since your K frame came out of a '74 slant 6 with manual steering and you kept the steering box, you would need a Moog K7075 Pitman arm for manual steering. Don't pay attention to the pictures of parts you see online. They are pictures of "representative parts and the actual part may differ"...

    steering column interchange

So, you have a manual steering, floor shift column and want to swap in a power steering, column shift column, and keep the manual steering. Is that correct? If so , you will find what you need here http://chucker54.stores.yahoo.net/mamastad.html among other places (Firmfeel, Flaming River) and...

    K member broken, suggestions?

Took a pretty serious hit to fold the driver's side wheel under like that, flatten a motor mount, and bend the lower control arm pin on the passenger's side. Before you spend up a bunch of money on purty parts for that car, it might be a good idea to have the front frame rails checked for...

Lower ball joint R&R on 71 duster

They aren't under tension if the lower control arm is resting on a jack stand and supporting the weight of the car. Separate the tie rod ends from the steering arm before you unbolt the ball joint from the spindle. Makes life a little easier...

    Shorten steering column

These columns were designed this way to absorb shock and hopefully keep the steering column shaft from piercing your heart during a collision. Anyone use these "redesigned" coupler kits by Steer and Gear?

All you have to do is swap everything from side to side. Pop the ball joints and tie rod ends loose and move the left side to the right and the right side to the left.
