Pink 70 340 Duster goes for $62K on Mecum

i don't understand what your goal is here? My goal is manifold. But, in part, it's to understand why a forum thread about a car turns into a figurative jousting tournament. Someone has a differing opinion or irritating online personality.... full speed ahead, run 'em through! admonishing me...

Pink 70 340 Duster goes for $62K on Mecum

Actually, I don't understand. That's why I'm responding to this thread. You choose your actions. No one else is responsible for that. Interesting you picked out another lofty haughty phrase.

Pink 70 340 Duster goes for $62K on Mecum

Dan might be off base. Whatever. You are missing my point even though you pointed it out in your own post (#34). You said "imagine". You can't base comps on imagined circumstances. (drunk idiot..., mom's old car .....) Certainly, not rational to expect someone else to base their comps on...

Pink 70 340 Duster goes for $62K on Mecum

So you agree that Dan is just giving his opinion. "any sane person i would take a look at the comps before making a decision on value" Dan claims to do the very same thing by looking at Marketplace and CL. So, he must be sane and as such; realistic in his assessment. His opinion does not fit...

Pink 70 340 Duster goes for $62K on Mecum

To be an arbitrator, would mean he sets the value on Dusters. He has an opinion on it's value just like everyone else on this thread. So, if you are shopping for a Duster and a guy is selling a run of the mill /6 Duster with o.k. paint, etc and wants $26k for it. Are you going to say to yourself...

Right. By law everyone onboard must have a seat and be seated. Went like this: I went to the Frontier website and put in my origin airport and destination. The page pops up and says "we have low fares to Phoenix for $65.00 *one way." Great! I book two round trip tickets for two people. $260.00...

Frontier. Airbus A320. By the way, for those that have not flown Frontier. Those advertised low fares are just paying for the airplane to get to the destination. If you want a seat on the airplane, you have to pay extra. No kidding.

The end is near for Hot Rod Magazine

Subscribed to Hot Rod back in the '80's. Sort of disappointed at all the Chevy stuff. They did feature a '71 Hemi Road Runner with a clear plexiglass hood insert. If I recall correctly and that's a big "if". Anyway, it got one page in the magazine and one photo that was black and white. The...

    Bead blasting pistons

Was reading about someone wanting to buy some used forged pistons on another forum. He posted a picture of the pistons and asked some basic questions about CR, compression height, etc. First response he got was: If those pistons have been bead blasted, and they appear to be. They are trashed...

    Not your Father’s racing.

I think we can all agree that electronics will make more power and are needed to help with that. But, I think the original point is that electronics are taking the sport out of the sport. Racing is potentially headed the wrong way. Less innovation and less talent needed from the driver/owner...

    Gasket matching vs. port matching.

"made as one" I get that's a good idea. Yes, I'm saying port matching and gasket matching are two different things. Port matching is correcting the head/intake mismatch just enough so the runners are aligned. Make a template method. Gasket matching is grinding the head/intake runners to...

    Gasket matching vs. port matching.

I have done the port matching using a template before. The original port mismatch was very minimal in the one engine I did. If I had gasket matched, I would have had to grind away a significant amount of metal. My question; why grind to the gasket outline? I've seen dozens of videos of...
