    360 compression

Ive heard horror stories about mr gasket head gaskets leaking. So if i had .040 taken off the heads, i would have to have the intake milled? Thats only .005 or so from stock. Machinest quoted me $80 per head

What could cause this? 360 problems ####update####

1st pic is #6 lifters. 2nd pic is #1 lifters. The lifters are too far down to put a straight edge across so i measured from the top of the lifter to the top of the lifter bore. .07, .06, .06, and .06 were the measurement. does this look right?

Found the problem. Timing chain was installed straight up matching both 0s as per directions. Installed properly i had to match the 0 on the top gear to the rectangle on the crank gear. Must be a factory defect.

    re-ringing a 360

i'm going to re-ring a 360 and had the pistons sitting on a piece of plywood. anyway, four of the pistons fell of the plywood so I don't know what hole they go in the block. how important is it to have them put in the original hole?
