    The offset of the backing plates are different SB to Lb Just measure twice, cut once :-) Bearings are the same.

    When deciding width...keep in mind big bolt backing plates n drums are wider than A body... Make sure you do the math you are after on final wheel placement.....

    Just remeasured the 1991 8.8 ranger rear... It looks to be 3" longer on the drivers side... If I cut off that 3" it will be 3" more narrow than stock... I made one that size for my '65 barracuda I had... Ran 3/4" offset hangers, shimed it rearward 1/2", and moved the spring perches to match...

    I just picked up a 1991 ranger 8.8 3:55 56" drum to drum. I'm thinking I don't need to cut..yes offset some to pass side, but so is a Mopar engine n trans... Any opinions? Thanks

    Call year one and ask for a cataolg for A body, and a B/E body one. I beleive there are pictures in there of the setup and parts available. Check on line , maybe they have a pic there.

    If you have already mini tub than move the springs, cut the rear short and put on some big meats.

    If you are going to use it and shorten it this is what I would do. Decide if you are going with mini tubs or spring relocate. If not pick what wheels/tires you want to run I cut a C body down to aprox 55 5/8" drum to drum (B,E,C drums) If you are going disk you mighjt be able to go alittle...
